So me and my family rented the conerstone chalet. We found it perfect for our group of 11 ppl. The only thing i would recommend for you if your planning a hot dog roast is bring a folding table or something to lay out condament bar lol. The view from hot tub was perfect for the area.

Stayed in the Riverstone Chalet for 3 nights, and snowmobiled 2 days. The place is amazing, and the snow/trail conditions were awesome. The owners are always available, and great to deal with. Highly recommend the stay here, the view from the hot tub is unbeatable!

Our family was in need of a short-term stay, as our furniture was delayed during our move. The Outerbanks proprietors were more than hospitable, and accommodated us with a warm welcome! The two-bedroom cabin we stayed in was very comfortable and cozy. It had everything that we needed and the kitchen was fully equipped to prepare meals. There were two queen beds in each room which were comfortable and clean with white linens. The bathroom was spacious, functional, and well stocked with towels and necessities. Both the Wi-Fi and television services were A1!There was a screened in porch with a BBQ and couch overlooking the river. We saw wildlife daily. This would be an ideal vacation spot for anyone seeking tranquility and relaxation. We certainly enjoyed the picturesque surroundings of our stress-free stay.

I wish I could give this place no stars. We booked a cabin as a group and due to unforseen circumstances we had to cancel. Did you know if you cancel less than 30 days you lose half your deposit right off the hop even if you book only 3 weeks before set date. Then if you can't rebook before the end of that year you lose everything........Do you really think they need to keep $550.00 for making a reservation??

One star for the beautiful setting, off the beaten path if you need to unplug. Our group was “upgraded” from our smaller air conditioned cabin to the larger non-air conditioned cabin for the last minute interest of another group. Booked very early in the year and when we got there, was informed of the change. Over half of our group sweltered in the heat overnight and will reconsider staying at The Outerbanks next time.

This is NOT LUXURY accommodations! Stayed at the Riverstone Chalet for 3 nights August 2022. Temperatures were warm and we knew there was no AC however we were expecting to the windows to open and that there would be screens on the windows. There are two patio doors. One of patio doors had no screen however the frame was there. The other one was full of holes which allowed moths and bugs in. Wasp nest in between deck boards added to the issues!A bedroom window had broken hardware which made it inoperable.Ceiling fan in living room sounded like an airplane was taking off. Would have been nice to cool off on the deck but sitting either on old wooden stacking chairs or broken furniture was our only options.Housekeeping/cleanliness: We took our shoes off at the door but our bare feet got filthy walking on the floors. Not sure when the stairs leading the the walkout basement had ever seen some soap and water. There wasn’t a night table by the bed so we set a bottle of water on the carpet. Sorry I never took a picture to share of what was stuck to the bottle. Guaranteed that carpet hadn’t seen a vacuum cleaner for a very long time! The inside of the kitchen cupboards were filled with anything from bread crumbs to leftover items such as gift bags filled and Christmas decorations. Why supply salt and pepper shakers if they are empty? Not sure how renters are to keep the place clean when garbage bags aren’t provided. Empty box of bags was left for us though. Went to get a fresh towel out of the linen closet and it was soaking wet!Beds & Bedding: Quality of beds were of those you would find in a low grade shady motel. Quilts/comforters were worn and extras were stacked on the dirty closet floor.BBQ was listed as an option however seeing the inches of old grease in the drip pan we didn’t feel it was safe to use!Pail on deck was full of old cigarette butts. Not something we want around children playing.Safety: light by main entrance was broken or burnt out. Front door locked however the patio door didn’t so why bother providing a key? This ‘LUXURY’ accommodations cost me $500/night for 5 adults and 1 three year old child for a total of $1,500.00. Views were great but that was about all.BUYER BEWARE!

My family and I had a stay booked at the Outerbanks for mid July at the Sandstone chalet. We were informed of the cancellation policy in advance and thought there would be no issue as we were all looking forward to it. However, I ended up with some sudden pregnancy complications that prevented our group from going. Natalie was very accommodating in terms of discussing possible future dates that we could postpone too. In the end, she was kind enough to return our deposit back in full.Although we were not able to experience our stay, I just want to commend Natalie for her professionalism and understanding throughout our booking process. She was responsive and eager to help in all matters.
