Attended a morning wedding ceremony at the Heintzman house. And this house is such an inspiration, warm, felt like an old heritage family home. Had rooms for the bride and her maid's and commercial kitchen and enough car parking for all the guests. Amazing and highly recommend.

A good exclusive venue for small gatherings. Front window view of the garden makes it a gorgeous party area. Ample of parking with exclusive front lawn for both outdoor and indoor celebrations.

Their annual Art Show is in April. No admission charge & free parking. Approximately twenty artists on hand. Many are outstanding, lots of variety, artists are patient & take their time explaining their craft & how he/she made it. Some offer art classes too. It's two floors but no elevators. Washrooms are available. In December is the annual holiday arts & craft show. Admission is charged & it's too expensive. Whoever organizes the show doesn't vet the artists, so they end up with many who sell the same items. There is always a captive audience with price gouging. Therefore, buyers leave empty-handed. Artists should remember that buyers are a select group who enjoy attending, like to find unique, handmade items, spend their money on practical items & not necessarily a crocheted cupcake that many had available. One vendor at the show in 2022 offered cute, handmade baby hats for $5, while many others started with a $40 price tag. Another vendor offered shower steamers in a beautiful jar, gift wrapped & best of all, she slashed her prices half price & sold out! The owner was engaging & friendly. This is what buyers want to see more of. Other vendors sat there & completely ignored customers. Some couldn't explain how they came up with the idea of their wares. They shrugged their shoulders.Buyers know hard work goes into creating treasured items & vendors need unique items to sell. Food vendors over charge, soap vendors do not include ingredients on their product & buyers are cautious bc we don't know if their soaps conform to Canadian Food & Drugs or are harmful. One of the best parts of the show was seeing students & young adults market their wares & donate all or half of their funds to clean water initiatives in poor countries. These individuals were wonderful. Heart & soul went into how they made their wares & sold out. One student sewed hair scrunchies in a variety of colors and fabrics & packaged them in luxury gift boxes. Many loved this practical gift & she sold out. Some vendors selling food didn't conform to covid policies. Baked goods need to be wrapped & you don't allow individuals to touch items. It's a good show but needs improvement. Some vendors didn't make any sales as their prices were much too high. Vendors: Please remember that you do not have brick and mortar stores & while you may think your handmade item looks like a million bucks, please come back to the real world & provide better prices so you make a sale. Unique handmade jewelry prices need to come down as well, so you don't leave a hole in my pocket.

Historical building that can be rented for events. It has a kitchen to prepare or warm up food. You have to wash any dishes or cutlery that you use.

Had my wedding at Heintzman. Was a great small venue for our 110 guests. The bridal suite is stunning, we even did some photos in there. The house is able to accommodate 113 but it is tight, however doable. Our caterer was Food For Thought, which was 10/10 delicious. The staff at the City of Markham was very helpful during the wedding planning process, and always quick to respond to my hundreds of emails. I would definitely recommend this as a wedding venue for someone looking for a more intimate, classic feel.
