U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer

This morning two vans had to be towed away because they were illegally parked = This caused a huge backup on 16th Ave because they were blocking a lane that people usually turn right from. These vans are parked all over the area and cause huge headaches for the locals. 16th & Oak is not a good location - Shame on U Haul for allowing this - If you don't have a lot to park the equipment in you shouldn't be running a business renting them out. (This practice is happening all over the city - Not just this one location...)

Terrible customer service. I called the night before to confirm my reservation, 15 minutes before they closed. Arrived at 10:15 am the next day 15 minutes after open and they initially said they didn't have my reservation, then a truck wasn't available, then the truck was broken. Found out from uhaul that they reported the broken truck at 8:20 am, yet no one could bother to contact me despite them both having my email and phone. U-Haul and pickup place just blamed each other. Both the man and the woman at the store were quite unapologetic and unhelpful.

Do not use this dealer, tried to scam us of over $1,000 of damage we didn't do to the roof and the photographs were of a van we didn't even use. The money was debited from our account and they would not talk to us, only kept saying it was our fault. We even had to talk to the police. We eventually got our money back through U-HAUL as we had the pictures and evidence to prove we did not do it.

Stay away from this place. Do everything you can to avoid renting from this location. The owner Gary will not work with you (the customer?!)and try to threaten you over the phone and continuously hang up on you. The clerk told us to return vehicle to the spot we picked up from, we did in the exact spot after 1 hour of use and now they are charging the wrong card on file additional charges DAYS AFTER they sent a receipt confirming return of vehicle. This is the first bad review I’ve ever written, PLEASE don’t do business here.

Stay away from this location if you can. I returned the vehicle 4 hours after I had rented it in the same condition. 3 days later I got an email for damage report and they charged me for 300 dollars for roof damage! How on earth could I damage the roof!? I called the owner (Greg) he hangs up on me and says call customer support. They had even made a mistake for the odometer KM on the damage report. It was 30 KM more than what I had returned the truck. As if someone else had took the truck after me. I'm still trying to get my money back.

Avoid this place. We had a ‘guaranteed reservation’ booked well in advance with email confirmation in hand. When we went to collect the truck, they told us apparently their system didn’t have it on file, and no trucks available. Their only guidance was to call customer service. They alluded to this happening pretty regularly. We will not be booking again. Obviously quite a challenge to find out last minute that we don’t have a moving truck. Called customer service trying to get through to someone - but just hung up after 30 minutes on hold. Hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Great experience collecting our u-haul van. Would recommend arriving 30 mins before your rental to ensure there are no issues. First drive to the alley behind the address and follow the prompts on the u-haul app, then it will give you directions to the van.No contact and as long as you follow the app it is a simple process. Received a call from an agent when locating our vehicle if we needed assistance. The entire pick up process was completed via the app. When we couldn’t locate the van we were directed to a new one in the area immediately.There was free and easily accessible parking nearby. The van was clean and had a dolly inside to use as well.

Greg and Margaret (owners) are incredibly kind! Looks like the negative reviews here are mostly Uhaul related. The dealers are great and very friendly and accommodating! Could not have asked for better customer service.If you need a U-Haul, this is the place to go.Seems that the parking situation has been sorted too. They park a couple blocks away, where you can also leave your car for the day. Great location.

I got charged double the amount they quoted me, I dropped van off after 6 hrs and still got charged a extra day, communication was terrible, called customer service twice they said they’d look into but no one got back to us! I will never deal with U Haul ever again! Don’t waste your time or money with this outfit you will be very dissatisfied!
