Too bad I can give them ZERO. I have submitted all required documents but they refused my file because according to them I refused" to provide these documents. Good thing that I had e-mail confirmation that the documents received. Three weeks later and I am nowhere with my file. ."

You can't never reach them by phone for appointment all retires lawyers working or sleeping idk

This place refused my mentally ill parent aid because they couldn't obtain the required documents. I then call and spoke with the secretary and she was very annoyed by me and was not trying to understand that I needed to assess the situation in order to help my very paranoid mentally ill parent. Just because someone cannot afford the help it doesn't make it OK to disregard their needs if you feel like it.

I'm giving 1/5 just because the rating system doesn't let you put 0/5. Matter fact i would actually give -1000 'cause 0 would be considered as an accomplishment in their case.

Terrible service. My file is on hold for over 4 months. They do not return calls. They are rude. Horrific.

Where to start...I can't help but notice with a bit of disappointment and sadness the vitriol and dissatisfaction that has been poured over the CDN Community Legal Center, on my personal POV there are several misunderstandings on the part of those opinions.To begin with, the Center is dedicated to those who at the moment do not have an income at all or that due to their circumstances are literally on their knees, thus you need to prove that you meet that criteria, they ARE NOT a service for those that have an income as low as it might be, this service is for the people that are truly vulnerable and that are literally on the brink of personal bankruptcy, having said that, also the case has a direct effect on their decision to take your file or not, if the case is a personal grudge or contesting a speeding ticket chances are that you are going to be turned down, if the case is related to your survival and unreasonable circumstance on which you are evidently vulnerable to a bigger player and that their actions have been egregiously applied to you without a reasonable explanation, they will step-up to the plate swing for you and help you navigate an otherwise overwhelmingly unequal situation that without their help would account to a certain loss and assured despondency, so yeah, they are selective.Second there are certain minimum requirements to be met, if you have an income, notwithstanding the nature or amount, that will lower your probabilities of being taken in, if you have savings, the same.If you are single that too effects their decision, for mental illness, they will not take your word for it, you will need to bring a diagnose by a professional related to the illness that you claim.Third and probably one of the most important ones, they are lawyers that are making far less than corporate or private practice lawyers, they do this because they believe in social causes, they believe in justice and equality, that is why they take a substancial cut on taking on causes that they consider worthy, and take their time not only on choosing those cases, but they strive to make a difference, on winning for their clients, clients that are vulnerable and in a fragile position. They are the last line of defence for the vulnerable, without them I can assure you, there would be a lot more personal bankruptcy cases and people in despondency situations.So please cut them some slack and respect their effort, they give so much more than they take, and believe me they are overworked, they take many cases and fight for them tooth and nail, I have nothing but praise for them.Many thanks!

need a requirement of minimal income then will offer help, receptionist is a nice guy.
