Unemployment Insurance Agency

I am a CPA in the Metro-Detroit area. In all my years as an accountant and especially working on tax filings and payroll tax filings, never come across a worse organization. Refuse to have open lines for calls, bad service, harassing clients with notices but not making themselves available to communicate about the related accounts. Absolutely horrendous institution, Whitmer needs to do a wipe out and overhaul of the UIA

I called several times without success. Finally today 12-20-2022 I was able to speak to someone about my rate being so high. I provided my EIN to the lady on the other side who was not really interested in her job, or at least that how I felt. She put me on hold for 2 minutes then came back and said : that my account was updated , goodbye and hung up. That was it. There was no does that answer your question? Is there anything else? or a reason why my bill went from $100 to over $800.00 . It is really sad that we are paying these guys. I am very disappointed .

One of the workers there, Donald, mentioned he’d call me with an update on a claim I had,It’s been weeks and still no call, after mentioning he’d personally call me.

Call and call and phone is busy all day. It’s not 2020 anymore how is it so busy? Also the chat doesn’t even work I don’t think because no one ever answers and my identity verification has been stuck for DAYS despite me taking pictures of myself with the verification sheet they mails, birth certificate, SSC, ID and marriage certificate and the worker I did get a hold of was RUDE and did not resolve my issue. I had to send a message to the Governor Whitmers office because of the incompetence.

Just horrible. They lock the doors here to keep the public out, and the 1800 number hangs up on you! Call your state house representative! They helped me and got me a call back with in 45 minutes. If enough of us complain they will have to remove Julia Dale and give us someone that can do the job again.All that's happened is the UIA has cut themselves off from public they claim to be there to help. The pandemic is over, time to do your jobs again!

Can't say much without sounding toxicThis place collectively can't get it right to save peoples lives on a good day. One star is a handout and doesnt accurately reflect the level of service I've recieved in total. From agents being rude or uninformed to conflicting info from different agents. Do yourself a favor and position yourself to never need MI UIA.

The Michigan unemployment system needs a huge overhaul because its just stupid at this point. We gave so many people money during covid that I can barely get any money due to the system being confusing. Luckily I was able to talk to a wonderful teller and hopefully get my situation fixed. The staff and guards were very nice and it wasn't a bad experience. The government just needs to fix their system.

I wish I could’ve gotten the young ladies last name but her first name was Candice ! WHAT A SWEETHEART! She helped me through everything over the phone & all I had to do was send in 2 more documents & I was ready to go . Once we were off the phone she was committed to getting everything processed shortly after I sent the required information. WE LOVE CANDICE , she knows what customer service is foreal!

Due to unemployment technicalities I could my job. Only thing I did was show up to work and get temporarily laid off. During my layoff process I haven't been able to get one of my certifications I have 4. I told my job and the unemployment agency my situation. No income I have no transportation to work. Due to a lack of funds while awaiting the determination process I thought I was fired from a job I worked hard to get hired in. This system is a joke and now I'm behind in bill's I don't get any kind of assistance from the state which leaves me just STUCK. Where is the equality. There process is to slow. I gave them all the documents needed. I just hope I can make it through this week and thankful I had 6 PTO days left. No vacation days left for the rest of the year because of this matter.

When I say I’m tired of them. I’m tired. Owe me over $4k for over a year now. Can never get anyone on the phone and when I do, they tell me to protest. I’ve protested over 2 times, no court date set or any help. It’s tiring.
