Went around 6 p.m. on a Thursday, several of us in a group. There was not a single other person inside! Only seemingly a few phone orders came in while we ate. The staff were friendly enough but very basic service. They brought out drinks after a few minutes, food a moment later with one dish being fairly delayed (breaded almond chicken). No drink refills or checks on us were made/offered by the server (at all).The food itself was okay, I'd say decent but not very notable. Some of the dishes such as beef and brocoli, Cantonese chow mein and beef chow fan had very little/tiny strips of beef, hardly noticeable (seriously). We had also asked for just a few small dishes for some cake and they randomly brought out a few extra that were not needed right after.Overall, I was not that impressed, and even the portions were a bit on the smaller side.Not sure if we'll be returning unless someone else is buying.

Ordered take out for the 1st time. (Only due to our usually places were closed). Food was very bland!! And the portions were ridiculously small. For spending $130 it barely fed 6 people. Any where else we have lots of left overs. Will never go there again.

An update is definitely needed on the website, went on a Friday and there was no lunch buffet as advertised.The restaurant is really nothing special and is very dated. It looks like it’s been around for decades and smells like it too.However, I enjoyed their Cantonese Chow Mein, the flavours were tasty but the portions were pretty small; 2 shrimps, 2 pieces of chicken, 2 pieces of beef and 3 pieces of bbq pork, a couple pieces of cauliflower, a couple slices of carrots, about 4 slices of mushrooms and a whole lot of broccoli, on a small bed of noodles.Drinks are expensive at $1.99 a pop or bottle of water.Service was strange as we had to fill out our own order bill with our order preferences… never in all my years was I expected to do this at a sit down restaurant. I was actually really caught off guard by this. The waiter said absolutely nothing to us the entire time and it made me wonder if he actually spoke English.Although, I would go back and try other dishes and consider a take out order in the future.Very strange experience but the food was flavourful.Update: had take out the food was decent but the portions are rather small.

Food was good. Not exceptional, but good. Dry breaded veal was very good. Service was quick, although we had to wait for someone of or over the age of 18 to serve our beer. Quite a few take-out orders, but we were the only ones in the restaurant. That may be why our service was so quick.

Just on main st of the town of Selkirk. Though the outside may look like it’s been run down and inside may need some upgrade. But don’t let that fool you when it came to the food. It was very appetizing and it did hit the spot if you are looking for something to fill you up. There was plenty of food and it was decently priced. Service was quiet but very helpful, and very hard working. I really hope more people come and see and try this place out.

The food was pretty good but I feel like covid's really taking down this restaurant. Maybe they need the update. Their interior and freshen it up but at least the food was good

Incredibly unimpressed with our first takeout experience. Schezwan chicken and ginger beef were indistinguishable unless you noticed the tiny pieces of preserved, pink ginger. The spring rolls were the only appetizing part of the meal. Unsure if I will be back for some time.

Best chinese in selkirk, we've been getting from there for 10 years at least. Always friendly and foods always good. We dont dine in often but the take outs always packed up good .

The chicken balls from Ocean Palace are absolutely delicious! They remind me of an even tastier version of McDonalds fries. A huge compliment indeed and I highly recommend them. I also tried their shrimp fried rice, breaded shrimp, and ginger beef, and all of the dishes tasted great and the prices were good. The staff deserve an extra shout out for delivering the food to me without a credit card number upfront (Feastify, etc require one before they will accept orders). An all-around excellent, pleasant experience. Thank you!

Ordered hot and sour soup, spring rolls, chicken balls and chicken fried rice. The hot and sour soup was not like others we have had, we ended up throwing it away, sadly. The spring rolls and chicken balls were soggy unfortunately but the chicken fried rice was good. Was really looking forward to trying this place but unfortunately we won’t be purchasing from here again. I hope they can up the freshness of their food at some time.
