Dark Harbor Tattoo

James Amsden at the South Portland location is one of the most talented, kind, welcoming, and professional people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He did an unbelievably amazing coverup for me of a tattoo that I just despised. I had such an incredible experience at Dark Harbor, and I plan on eventually getting a sleeve overtime through him. I cant even express in words how fantastic my experience was here. He is a true artist and gentleman. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone and everyone. Just amazing!!! It turned out better than I could have ever hoped! Thank you SO much!

Brought my daughter in to have her ears pierced. Nick Holes is amazing. Walked us through everything so well, explaining everything very clearly, and answering all of our questions. He worked with us on placement, very patiently (who knew a pair of ears could be so different (Nick did)). A most excellent experience. This is the place to get pierced, Go see Nick, you won't be disappointed.Since this original review Nick has moved. You can now find him at Brass & Briar Studios on India St.

I followed Tyler's work for a while on Instagram before I met him. Tyler is such a talented artist and an all around great guy. He has a lot of patience and pays attention to every detail. He worked with my design making as many revisions as needed till I was absolutely in love with it. On the day of my appointment I still wasn't sure if I wanted color or b&w so he colored it on his iPad to give me a better idea. My nerves go right away as soon as I'm in his chair. I live in Bangor and have no problem traveling to Portland because he's worth every mile.

Had a walk-in appointment with Sky for my first tatto. She was great with walking me through everything, and it came out incredibly. Her line work is crispy!

Had an awesome experience getting tattooed by Olivia at Dark Harbor! Dark Harbor has a fantastic reputation in the tattoo/piercing community for a reason. The studio is clean, and comfortable and the artists are very friendly. The rooms allow for privacy which I loved because I was getting my thigh tattooed.

Olivia was awesome! Friendly, professional, and not to mention a fantastic artist. She was even able to get me in sooner than my scheduled appointment which was nice. I will for sure be booking with her again!

Roman did an amazing job. Not only was he a great artist, he was very personable and made me feel comfortable. I had a lot of fun with my first tattoo. And if you are getting an anime tattoo I highly recommend Roman!!!

Great experience from booking to the actual day of. Communication was spot on. I trusted her artistic vision. I gave her some ideas of what i wanted. I showed up and was blown away. Everyone was very welcoming. I love the vibe in the shop. Shelby did my first tattoo back in August. I can’t wait to go back next month for more.
