Parkins Vicky M Dr

Absolutely one of the best doctors I've seen. This wonderful woman knows her stuff. After being an uncontrolled type two diabetic for many years within weeks she had it under control. She explains things to you, so us who are not in the medical field understand it. Thank you Dr Parkins for giving me my life back. You are truly one in a million.

Since being transferred to Dr Parkins a couple years ago, I have been in emergency for a week, and am participating in a Cancer trial in Edmonton. All Dr Parkins really needs to do is renew a prescription that helps keep my tumors under control, and that is usually handled with a phone appointment.Today I sit with NO prescription, Which should have been renewed in November, and I wonder why I need This doctor???? I, nor my pharmacist, or anyone at Tom Baker Cancer Center, can get ahold of Dr Parkins to renew my drugs. We have been trying since Friday!I think back on my emergency stay awhile back,...I deliberately went to Foothills Hospital (the complete opposite side of the city, 2 other hospitals were closer) because the Tom Baker is in an adjoining building to Foothills Hospital and thought; this will be easier for everyone to work together"! BUT I WAS WRONG. I didn't get one visit or phone call from Dr Parkins or her staff or department! My ER Dr couldn't even get a call back. Those in Edmonton ( I wasn't in the trial yet) were more helpful than my Own Dr who held clinics just steps away from my Room!I may not totally understand all that's involved or what kind of Politics exist in our healthcare system

She is a wonderful Endocrinologist. She helps you get everything under control but also insists on not letting diabetes control your life.
