Wakefield Mill Hotel and Spa

Everything was great. Food was amazing. Service was quick and very friendly. The only complaint and it’s a small one is that It would be convenient to have two chairs in the room.The town of Wakefield is a cute little place to snoop around. The bakery is worth the walk.

Oh my. What a spot. We were there in early June 2023. Incredible food at the Inn. Was not expecting the caliber. Gorgeous, spacious room, with huge bathroom. Lovely, vibrant paintings line most of the walls on the main floor. I wanted them all. They handled our large work group so well and professionally. Breathtaking location, waterfall, natural scenery right outside the windows, forrest walking path also an option just up the road, within walking distance. Just a few minutes downhill from the Inn is a small town nestled next to what looks like a lake but is a river. Shops, restaurants, bike path. Top marks! I didn't want to leave.

Hate to review badly but I don't think we'll be back after two tries trying to eat in the main restaurant. They were out of food a year or two ago. This evening we had apps at the bar upstairs which the bartender ordered for us because we never saw our server in two hours. We went downstairs for our reservation and were seated for half an hour before flagging down the host to ask if there were any problems as we had about another hour and a half before wed need to leave to get home to the babysitter. He sent over our server who came to tell us we'd probably better give up, not that she waited for any follow-up questions. We returned to the bar upstairs which served us promptly and, though tasty, the portions were quite small and actually fairly different than described. Now I'm waiting on freezer fries at home, 250 bucks lighter.Update: the business replied on here asking me to contact them directly. I did so, no reply, and I think they've removed their reply on here.

Place did not meet expectations. We asked front desk for a room in the old mill facing the falls, was sent to a lodge that looked like a dorm room with an underwhelming view of the lawn. We figured only there for one night why make a fuss. Dinner at Heron was so slow for such a low capacity of patrons, wait staff not attentive at all for water or drinks, food was bland. We had reservations at 7pm and arrived on time, our mains did not appear until after 815pm.We had massage appointments as well the next day. Massage therapists did not use good technique. They may not be to blame, however, as we noticed the massage tables were not good quality and not height adjustable for the RMTs to work effectively.Included breakfast was good.

Will be back for more stays as I had a truly amazing time. Everything was wonderful and the atmosphere was just what I was looking for as an escape from the city ! I look forward to my next stay! Thank you for the great experience!-Chad & Sandi

What a wonderful dining experience, and what can one say about the view and service. Only outdone by the cuisine. From the moment you enter, a sense of calm surrounds you. The friendly welcome the Maitre D to our outstanding server Sandrine. Kudos to the Mills for what we consider one of the best dinning experiences in the Outaouais!The first time my husband had the burger, the second the fish and chips. Both excellent, particularly the fries and the home made tartar sauce. I had the same both times, the onion veloute and added the pan fried foie gras. To die for!

I have seen this place on instagram a lot and I wanted to visit for the longest time and finally made it . The place itself is wonderful. Since check-in the staff was awesome . They made us feel very comfortable and they were so kind . We got the heritage room with the view of the falls . The room was very clean , everything was perfect. We got a complimentary small honey in our bed with a note for my partner’s birthday. So thoughtful and sweet . Their spa area is small yet very calm with the waterfall sound. Everything was smooth from check-in to check out . Would definitely recommend going 100% worth it .

If you want to escape from a chaotic city life then this is a great location. We had 3 meals there (dinner, breakfast and in room service platter for two). None of the meals disappointed! Loved every dish me ordered!The spa is so simply designed yet so practical. Barely any walking involved in between the sauna and the hot tub. It’s located by the waterfall. Just trees and forest in front of you and pure sounds of nature.If you like hiking and all the active nature stuff then it’s the spot for you, yet , it is also a great place for the lazy trying to not move all weekend people like me. Everyone will find their flow at this hotel.If there was one thing I d strongly recommend is to book your room in the newer buildings because the oldest one that we were staying in is kinda spooky and at night it was so loud cuz the building is just so old. This older building is pretty and clean and picture perfect, and functional, but I’m not a fan of old nearly historical building.Everyone staying at the hotel and the spa guest were very quiet and respectful, so you truly get to rest and recharge.Employees were sweet too! Super friendly and quick to answer question! Everyone was bilingual too which made staying there even easier.All in all, loved the whole experience, and would 100% do it again!!

Great spot. Nice and tasty restaurant. I recommend the discovery menu. The breakfast was also very good. It is in a beautiful location. Only negative is the room. Room was spacious but bathroom needs help. Needs maintenance. I understand that it is tough to get people to do work these days but when it is a ‘4-star’ hotel I expect more. See pictures below. I am allergic to mould so may not be an issue for everyone.

My husband and I enjoyed a one night Discovery Package for our wedding anniversary. Dinner and breakfast at the Muse restaurant were outstanding, as was the wine pairing. Restaurant and front desk staff were professional and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the convenient heated pool, hot tubs, and multiple seating areas with wonderful views of the waterfall and nature. The deluxe mill room was spacious and comfortable with beautiful views and a mini-fridge. A single error on our invoice was quickly and easily rectified. 5 stars!
