What an absolute gem we found! I had the Sam's classic and it was the best burger I've had in Winnipeg. The fries were great too. I can't wait to try the rest of the amazing menu!

Delicious food and stellar coffee. Good books, with a large selection of classical works. Some topics lack in depth. German langauge selection is worth mentioning too. Friendly staff. Simple space with room. Quiet enough to enjoy a read.

They recently re opened. Their serving staff is volunteers. Their service needs work. They are friendly but seemed a bit lost.It's a very comfortable space to be in.We were impressed with their pressed sandwiches. They are very generous with the filling.The soups were more like stew. It was thick ... In one case it didn't really have any liquid at all.Order: the sandwiches. All of them we tried were goodAvoid: morrocan lentil soupParking is available in a lot to the side, accessed from the back.Find out if there is a performance for that night. You will get kicked out if you do not pay the fee.

Sam's Place
Sam's Place is great! Used bookstore, cafe, venue. It's a good place to hang out with friends or have a light meal. It's also great for bringing some work and focusing. I'm not entirely sure what's happening with Sam's Place in this COVID world, but know that they've provided job training and some other good supports in the past.

The book selection is always good, food is yummy at a fair price. I will say: prices could really afford to be lower with it being donated materials. Why store more books than you can shelve when you would probably make more money with lower prices? Pricing is also pretty inconsistent. Despite my little suggestions/complaints, its still five stars!

A great place to look for used books. All the books are categorised and each category is in alphabetical order.The coffee is great, and the cookies are fantastic!! I always come here when I'm in town.
