We've been loyal and regular Horseshoe skiers over the past 20yrs or so. Maybe this is a transition season with the new owners but our visit on Dec 29, 2022 gave us no reason to ever come back. Fees have gone up significantly, with bogus new resort and media fees now being charged in exchange for less amenities. The old and large change area on the left side of the building has been replaced with racks of rental fat bikes so you're left with a very small change area next to the disintegrating washrooms. The entire upstairs sitting area and cafeteria has been completely closed off and abandoned, with zero plans to re-open. Where are skiers supposed to eat/warm up? This was an acceptable arrangement during the COVID restrictions but not now. Luckily it was a warm day when we were there so this wasn't a big deal. The new owners seem to be all for increasing revenue and have no regard for taking care of the customers and making sure they are comfortable. And I appreciate that there are bigger plans to expand your golf course and to rebuild the chalet but come on, at least put some effort in making sure people are comfortable and taken care of for the season/transition period. If you want a cheaper and better experience, go to Hardwood or Collingwood. That's what we'll be doing.

I feel like I was robbed. We came for cross-country ski for a few hours, with our own equipment. Asked to pay 117$ for two adult tickets. On the website they announced fantastic snow conditions . There was barely snow. This price is just too much, not worth that. Not coming there anymore.Good luck with your business

We enjoy cross country skiing and trail hiking. We have been to the lodge for the past few years and find the staff are helpful with the rental equipement. The drawbacks are the washrooms. There is only one washroom stall for each gender and the line ups get incredibly long. The lodge could afford to extend their bathrooms given the amount of business and customers they have. The last two years we found the trails not as well maintained. Not sure we will be back given the increasing fees.

Unfortunately there wasn't much snow, but we could still do some x-country skiing and enjoy the beauty of the place. The staff is super friendly and helpful

Xcountry ski rentals available for outdoor fittings. Trail well groomed (although missing the track in some parts). Some hills were a bit tricky for me (novice), so we walked up/down a few. Trails were busy but not overcrowded. Well staffed. Staff were kind and helpful. A bit pricier than I would have hoped. Great way to get the kids outside and active through the lockdown (we had an 8 and 10 year old with us for their first time). Masks worn in all common areas and we kept them on for most of the trail. Saw others doing the same.

I WANT A REFUND. Visited on Feb 5th 2023, had to pay an extra $5 for an ID card (where is this mentioned on the website!?) The ski day pass was $40/per adult, and what did we get for this? All the groomed" trails we went on had foot prints and dog prints all over (probably from locals who come from Copeland forest and use these ridiculously expensive trails for FREE). I also saw dogs running off-leash on the trail. In the chalet there was no where to sit and eat/warm up

They have dedicated winter trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and fat-biking. All equipment is available for rent. One thing that is lacking is washroom facilities. There are hundreds of visitors every day, but only one women's and one men's washroom on site. Lineups to the washroom are longer than they should be. Considering how much they make on trail passes, equipment rentals and the food truck, they can definitely affors to install a few more portable washrooms so people don't have to wait in line for 20-30 minutes.

Classic shrinkflation. Absolutely atrocious. The price has gone way up and every single accommodation for guests has been removed. Significant reduction in trail quality. No water station. No eating area. Changing area eliminated and reduced to 1/8th capacity. Wax room closed. Shop, closed. The washrooms look like they were built by a handyman in 1985. All of this reduction and a price increase? You must be joking, horseshoe. This place used to be great. Now? Don't bother. Hardwood hosts professional races. They have a brand new timber framed chalet with up to date facilities more trails and professional grooming. It costs 3 dollars more than this travesty. Take your family there instead.

The staff are so friendly and helpful when you arrive. I always notice that.I find it a little odd that they sometimes track set downhill and around tight corners. Honestly there are times I wonder how they think anyone can stay in those tracks. So you have to know the trails in advance to know when the tracks make sense and when they are going to lead you into trouble. But that's such a minor quibble.Get out there and cross-country ski folks. It's a blessing to be able to exercise in the current times.
