The Village of Glendale Crossing
My husband has been there almost five years now. Brighton staff are excellent (caring, friendly). So glad I was able to get him in. He has issues that can be trying at times however all staff couldn't be better in handling it and keeping me well informed. There may have been past issues, prior to our arrival, however I highly recommend The Village of Glendale Crossing.

most toxic work place to even get a job at. stay far away if you can they don't even have food on the floors at night to feed the residents if they are hungry. the management team don't even know anything about the medical world they know how to work in the kitchen or paint fingernails or play bingo the head office needs to come and re haul the whole management team and get proper management in the building. if head office actually would care about the residents in the home they would hire proper management proper dietary and not just feed the resident horrible food with no options and everything has curry on it and maybe food they can actually eat or with taste ... stop cheaping out on the residents needs give them proper briefs and proper care and showers. it's sad half the staff don't have a clue what they are doing. As a company that cares for other humans you need to step back and look at how you treat your residents and workers.... DONT SEND YOUR FAMILY THERE DONT WORK FOR THEM.... save your self for a company that actually hires proper staff in the management positions and proper staff to care for the poor residents.

Kicked a 61 year old woman out of her long term care home after a stint in hospital, despite continuing to pay her rent/fees at this facility. Despicable. Consider looking for residence elsewhere as this establishment lacks personal relationships and connections with residents. RE: view the CTV London news article, in regards to 3 year resident Marsha, who was discharged after a visit to hospital.

This appears to be a lovely and caring place. However, absolutely no one answers their phone, it always goes to voicemail. There is no “reception” to assist in directing your call. So, once you get the call to say your loved one can move in, it is nigh impossible to find out the details of the move. We have learned that you can move stuff in ahead of the admission date. They have a tech who hooks up the phone and Rogers TV. Don’t know if you use a special elevator for furniture and move in, and no one calls back! You can measure the room before you arrive, which is helpful. Gave 3 stars since the move in is a bit less than helpful. This is not a rating of the actual care given at the facility

The staff needs to slow down in our residential area especially in the morning when you're speeding to work or going through stop signs and not stop it let's be safe and watch out for the people that live in this community That like to enjoy peaceful walks in the morning and not have to worry about staff members from this facility not obeying the rules or the speed limit

My mother has been at Glendale Crossing in London since it first opened, approximately 5 years ago. She had previously lived in a retirement home that did not provide enough care for her early dementia. She ended up in hospital due to a severe loss of weight and dehydration. Once that was resolved and she was ready to be discharged, we knew she could not go back to that home. We were given only two weeks to find a long-term care facility for her. From our first visit to Glendale, the General Manager Michelle made us feel comfortable and confident that she would be well cared for. The staff were very welcoming. We were able to move in quite a few of my mother's personal belongings and were able to make the room look like home for her. She was initially not pleased about moving but she soon became very happy with her new home. She refers to the staff as her friends, and they treat her very well. As her dementia progresses, she has adopted some behaviours that socially awkward, but the staff always treat her with respect and warmth. I am always kept up to date on her health and any small falls she has had. I have an annual meeting with the facility doctor, and the managers of nursing, nutrition and recreation to discuss any concerns that they or I have. There are many social activities for residents, both at the home and bus trips. Residents are encouraged to participate in as many or as few of these as they desire and are able. The meals are wonderful, and there are two to three choices at each meal. Every time we visit my mother, she says, Thank you so much for moving me here. I never want to live anywhere else. That takes a huge weight off of my shoulders, to know that she is well-cared for and happy.Cathy Williams, London Ontario

My Mother as been at Glendale Crossings for a year and a half now. She is settled into her new home and enjoys a good quality of life there. When she went in she was very depressed, and has dementia and so it was not easy to get her involved at first. But now she enjoys a number of activities - they have a wonderful music program - and day trips. The staff are wonderful. I live out of town and am kept up to date with health issues and concerns by the Nurses. I can call anytime for information, and when I ask about her the staff really know about her day to day life, and how she is feeling. It is much more than just medical information and small talk. The Nurses work regular shifts and so they know her well and are alert to changes. They did not hesitate to send her to hospital when she needed to go, and kept me informed. ( I'm an RN and I ask a lot of questions).During a recent family crisis the social worker spent time listening to her, and the family, and kept me informed long distance of the ongoing issues. Last month we had family death the Chaplain was available to help through it - as well as helping her dress for the service, even getting her hair done. It is this personal team approach that reassures me that she is being cared for as an individual. The facility itself is bright and sunny with a great library and country kitchen for family meals. Her room is clean, the meals are a little repetitive but good, and she has made some friends.Sure there have been some issues - with room mates mostly, and she does not like early morning showers but we have been able to resolve these. I know the staff hear her concerns and are fair in dealing with them.I am very satisfied with all the staff do for her on Glendale.

My mum lived on the Westminster Neighbourhood for a year following her stroke before recently passing away. The regular PSW's , RPN's, and RN's are incredible and went the extra mile to make sure she was comfortable, especially once we had to put her in palliative care. The food was very good, always with choice and accommodating to special requests. The physiotherapists kept her moving until that was no longer possible, and they offer a wide variety of extra curricular activities for the residents. They always made sure she was aware of what was going on, and would extend personal invites. She loved the spiritual program offered by Maureen, that was probably her favourite activity. Housekeeping was there every day, and they also take an active interest in the residents. Like most people mum did not really want to be there in the beginning but soon called it home and felt very lucky to live there.
