We found a stray cat that was pregnant. I called and the staff was very polite and informative. Unfortunately they have a months long waiting list to bring in strays.

Have adopted two pets through this rescue. First went just fine. Second adoption was pretty bad:Second adoption was for a cat that had been under their custodianship for about 3 months. The cat was 1 year old. Only one set of vaccinations had been given to her, she still wasn't fixed either. They told us that the vet would call us within a few days for her spay. It was more expensive to adopt her due to her not being spayed yet.A week later I called the vet office to ask. They said they still hadn't received her paperwork and then told me they wouldnt be able to get her in for a month. Two months is how long it actually took for them to contact for an appointment, by this time we had already paid out of pocket ourselves for the spay because we couldn't just keep her locked away in a room for months.Wpg Pet Rescue also told us she was being fed Nutri-Source, when she in fact was being fed something else. We only figured this out after she hadn't been eating the first couple days we had her. When we took her to our vet, the vet told us that she was overdue based on her vaccination record - how can a pet rescue do this?Wpg staff we worked with knew we have a previous adoption at home, but didn't even bother to tell us she hadn't been tested for FIV yet. Would have been nice to know.Very disappointed in this latest experience with Winnipeg Pet Rescue. Would not recommend adopting through them anymore. They really dropped the ball with our new cat. That wasn't fair to her, and it wasn't fair to us either.

My sister and I (25&30) went into this place on February 3, my sister (25) wanted to adopt a puppy I was there to basically drive her and I’m the one who showed her the puppy because I visited this place 2 days prior and I know she was looking for a puppy. Anyway, we went in, she knew which one she wanted the lady said “ok these puppies are ready to go and I’ll let the front desk know”.. okay we wait around I go to dollarama while she’s looking at leashes and toys.. I come back and she’s still waiting .. 10 mins later a lady (different. Lady) approaches us and asks if we rent or own .. it’s not MY dog it’s my sisters so she said “I rent a basement suite internet parents home they own it” they proceed to say “we need someone here to say they are okay with it”.. okay she calls my parents they are on the way.. 20 mins later another lady approaches us and says “I called the manager and she actually wants to meet you and she’s gone for the weekend”… okay I ask when do they open on Monday and I ask if the dog will still be here she says yes. We leave.Few hours go by and my mom calls and inquired about the same puppy and they said it’s still available and they just need a copy of the id and they can take him home today. I am floored! I can’t believe this!So basically we experienced discrimination by the ladies there and they judged us and lost out on a good home and 500$.. i get they have to make sure they are going to a good home but that was just ridiculous!

The place was very inviting. The staff was very friendly and approachable and professional and aprieative,. The place was clean and spacious,. You can tell the animals there are loved and well taken care of. If I already didn't have a cat I would've adopted one from them.

Adopted a beautiful pup from here today. The staff were just awesome, helped us every step of the way, and even let us bring in our other dogs to have a meet and greet first! Wonderful people here!

This shelter is excellent!!! Their brand new building is a treat to go through. The staff is really great and very personable. This also applies to the owner. There is such caring for the animals that are in their care. I just got my new black cat named Mystique, and I got my puppy, named LilyLu, from them last year. We are a very happy family!!!
