Staff friendly and efficient. Equipment in good condition. Finn from the water taxi was great. I've rented from AO a few times over the past 14 years and I always have a good experience.

Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, made the first time using them very easy. We had all our boats and gear super quick and we were off canoeing before we knew it. Had an amazing 10 days in the back country.Hope to visit again :)

I took a class of grade 7/8 students on a three day trip last week and we rented our canoes from AO. The staff were great. Very friendly and helpful and efficient. They also gave us a good discount since we are a school group. We had a fantastic trip and enjoyed some well-earned ice cream at the Algonquin Outfitters shop when we got back.

Algonquin Outfitters - Lake Opeongo
We were camping in Whitefish lake campground and reached out to Algonquin outfitters for the Canoes. The staff was super helpful, responded to our call immediately and sent us the canoes in minutes. We realized one of the canoes was slightly damaged on the seating area after we started canoeing, still it was a beautiful experience. It would be really great if you have hourly charges instead of a whole day, as we used it only for couple of hours.

5 adults and 1 dog went up Jul 14-17. Rented 3 canoes and took the water taxi to a fantastic site on a peninsula on the East Arm. Sight was recommended by our water taxi driver Evan. We could not have been happier Taxi ride was fast and fun both ways. Evan could not not have been nicer and more helpful. We are going up with different people in a couple of weeks, looking even more forward to it than the first time!

Extremely nice and friendly staff! The items in the store weren’t over priced even though the store is in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommend if you need to rent gear, buy last minute equipment or even just want to get some ice cream.

Great staff and good rental prices. You get all the equipment you need and you have to return by 7pm. I rented a two man canoe and it was about $48 after tax. The lake is nice and quiet and you able able to visit the camp sites if no one is using them. Would return again to get out on the lake!

Booked our canoes and permits ahead of time. Showed up to the site, they were organized, helpful, and knowledgeable. We were in and on our way in no time at all. Plenty of staff on site to help guide you on your way. Lake Opeongo was beautiful and the campsites were amazing. No cell service up here, but you don’t need it!

We bought a canoe from them and the seat broke halfway through our first trip. When buying it we were told everything was is great working condition. I called the store and they said it is our responsibility to fix the canoe. We were completely mislead into thinking we were buying a quality boat. The rivets attaching the seat to the canoe completely snapped and are now stuck in the holes. It will not be a fix. We are very disappointed. Buyer beware!!!
