My 2 boys are enrolled in classes here. And they both love it. New students starting every month. Great atmosphere, and Incredible instructors (sensais).

This dojo is wonderful.I live and train elsewhere, but I'm frequently in Regina on business. To fill in the many gaps in training at my home dojo, my Sensei and I explored the options in Regina, and with her blessing and the permission of the Regina clubs, I checked out some classes at a few dojos; this one is a standout!Midwest is a traditional dojo in the purest sense. The training is tough, the senior karateka attack with intention, and the spirit is palpable. The karate here is alive (and the difference is evident when you've seen clubs where it's not). All the while there is a sense of total control - among adults, often at the edge, but never past.Watching the junior ranks train, the senseis and sempais keep it real, but fun and safe. There is gradual escalation in practical exercises, from slower movements and greater distances with white belt kids, progressing to higher speed closer techniques with older and more senior students, as they develop their technique, timing, control, and confidence. Watching just a few classes you can see how Midwest builds their students safely and effectively. Most importantly though, there is a sense of community, mutual trust, and genuine kinship among members of the dojo, and I feel privileged to be welcomed into the fold when I visit. If you or your kids are considering a martial art, if you trained when you were young and are coming back as an adult, or if you're new to the city and looking for a new home to continue your study, check out Midwest first. You won't be disappointed.Osu!
