H&R Block

Had my taxes done there last year .No problem. They made me an appointment before I left for this year .I asked of I would receive a confirmation call. I guess I should have been more specific. I received the confirmation call an hour before my scheduled appointment. That's not really a great confirmation call. I expected one at least the day before. I was not asked at that time if I would like to reschedule. I was told to call when I was ready. So I called today for an appointment and was told they were booked for the day as far as appointments but that I should just walk in as they save space for walk ins and someone would take care of me. So I arrived and was very rudely told that no one would have told me that and I could wait but it would be a 4 hour wait. So now I'm a liar on top of everything else. I explained to the receptionist exactly what I have explained here and her response was book an appointment then". So rude . Such poor service . I called the customer service line to let them know my experience as well and was on hold for 20 minutes before hanging up. I will never use their services again . You're not the only Tax preparation service H&R Block."

Extremely unorganized and unprofessional- I walked out.First of all, they're located in the Bayfield Mall but their website/confirmation emails never say where, and they don't answer the phone. So I had to walk through the whole mall to find them, and the mall is desolate and feels very unsafe. I passed multiple people who were clearly on drugs in the span of only a few minutes...Second, they made me wait nearly 25 minutes for what was supposed to be a 30-min appointment. The receptionist greeted me but then I just sat waiting and waiting. After 20 minutes, the lady finally comes to the front , looks at me and says Oh

I have been doing my taxes at this location for 4 years now with Anne Dao and she's simply the best! She's very knowledgeable and helpful to make your appointment quick and worthwhile. Anne will also coach you on how to prepare for your taxes before your appointment. If you think I'm joking, give her the opportunity on your next visit!!!!!!! :)

Do not use this service. In 2017 we went to file my mothers taxes and the service was good. We came back in Feb 24 2020 to file her 2019 taxes and it took 3 visits for us to have them finally complete them. The women who served us clearly did not know what she was doing, she made many mistakes. I had to argue with her about some of the forms she wanted us to sign. Finally on March 2 she completed and said she would get a refund but could not give it to her at that time we had to wait for CRA to process. 2 months later and CRA doesn't even have the file. I left a message for the manager to call me to discuss and no response. Clearly they do not know what they are doing. Stay clear of this location

Terrible experience with H&R today, neither they were professional enough and the person who was supposedly the most experience person there did not seem to know what she was doing and even told us you can to go someplace else as they don't have experience filing tax for a student for the first time"

Very professional. Did my taxes perfectly although I didn’t brought anything but specifically thanks to Ann Dao helped me about that.

It was quite expensive (especially when you end up owing!) BUT if I was rating on customer service alone, Ann is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend her. She was easy to work with, funny and reeallyy knows what she is doing! Very impressed with Ann.

My taxes were crazy this year!! Ann Dao made them simple for me though, and caught things I didn't even realize were there! Not only did Ann maximize my returns, but also got me a great price on the returns themselves. I was skeptical about letting another person handle my taxes at first, but after meeting with Ann I feel 100% satisfied and relieved I don't have to worry about about doing my taxes solo from now on, as I plan on going to her for all my taxes going forward. 5/5 would definitely recommend!

I have been doing my taxes at HandR for 15 years, and this is the worst experience I have ever had.I dropped off my taxes and they told me it would be done that night or by the next day. The lady was very pleasant. However I called today and asked the different lady how long approximately they would take. She was very rude and told me she had no idea. I don't understand why she wouldn't tell me what queue number I was in . You are paying for a service, and they can't even give you any information as to what is going on. Her excuses is because they are busy because of covid. Please hire some receptionists who know what is going on.Very unprofessional and will not be doing my taxes here again.

I've had nothing but top tier service from H&R Block. The last couple years I've worked with Sharon Sabourin at the Barrie, Bayfield location and this year we ran into a big tax owing for my grandmother who is in a nursing home. Through her guidance, hard work and patience we were able to solve the issue and turn that large tax owing into a small one. I've also had the chance to work with Peter Kellam at the Etobicoke, Islington/Bloor location 3 years prior in a row. Peter is a kind and talented accountant and was there for both my grandparents. Filing for my grandparent's taxes can be a stressful task but taking it to H&R Block, regardless of what location has proven to be a stress free process and I thank them and specifically Sharon and Peter.
