My friend (and MC Hammer) said it best.. “Too legit to quit”. Hands down the best place to eat in Kimberley. The front of the house staff was awesome, friendly and quick. If you can’t decide on what to order get the Bavarian Feast (2 or more people). It comes with a large sample of their menu and is a fantastic value. For desert, get anything with their homemade ice cream. You can tell it was made with real cream and the flavours are to die for.I would recommend making reservations if you are in town and parking at the front is a little small but you can park on the street.

The Old Bauernhaus Restaurant
This has been our favorite restaurant in Kimberley since we have been coming here for the past 16 years. The service is always good and the schnitzel is to die for! You can’t go wrong eating here, but book your reservation as far in advance as you can, it fills up! Tonight I tried their Bohemian Old Fashioned made with locally distilled rye whiskey. It was fabulous!

A group of highly obnoxious golfers absolutely decimated an anniversary dinner with terrible behavior and LOUD F bombs every 3rd word. The staff refused to ask them to calm down. So disappointing for a $250 evening. 100% disappointed in the atmosphere of what can be a wonderful place.

I'm not a fan of schnitzel. But omg was the old bauernhaus the best! The service was excellent and our server made sure to check with us about our sons numerous anaphylactic allergies (Peanuts, eggs, milk, lentils, peas, chickpeas). They even made a special meal for him which he loved and ate the majority of (he's very selective due to his allergies so this was shocking) We were here for a rehearsal dinner and we got the feast. You MUST get the feast of you come here. It was by far the most delicious food I've eaten in a long, long time! It exceeded my expectations 100% and keep in mind that my expectations were quite low given that I don't really enjoy schnitzel. Every course was delicious, even the salads!! We really appreciated their attention to our sons allergy as we literally cannot take him to eat at any restaurants what so ever! So thank you so much! The restaurant was packed yet service and quality did not suffer. Food was so delicious that I couldn't even stop to take photos of each dish. I will come here every time we visit Kimberley. I honestly didn't even know it was there as it's pretty hidden! Yum! Just go and eat here!

Honestly, I wish I took more pictures, to show how wonderful the food looked.While the presentation was wonderful, the taste was absolutely amazing. There's a reason that several locals recommended this restaurant. This is the kind of place where you must sit down, be patient, and enjoy your food, without a server pushing you along to get out. (They have a sign that says plan on your dining experience lasting 2-hours

The food was absolutely delicious! We had the large platter which gives you a sample of just about everything in the menu. Highly recommend this place, but make sure to make reservations in advance, they are quite busy during dinner time.

The Old Bauernhaus Restaurant
The whole experience of this restaurant was not good.Getting a reservation was a pain, waited almost two weeks to get a call back, to confirm a time slot.You only have two hours in the restaurant and you are constantly being reminded that you only have so much time left and you have to order now if you want this or that.The food itself is good but not great, if the overall dine in experience were better I would say this place is worth going to again. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case here.
