When I first contacted Sun Ridge to find out how much a home efficiency evaluation was outside of Edmonton, I was told it was $150 + GST. In a follow up phone call and email, I was told there was a $38 travel fee for outside of Edmonton. I then received an invoice for $261.50 on the day of the appointment, and was told there is now an $89 travel fee.I wanted to cancel the appointment last minute, but Matt, the auditor, assured me there was a $38 fee and he'd charge me appropriately when he came.While he was here doing the assessment, I received an updated invoice from the office for $161.50 - still with the $89 mileage fee, but with an additional $100 ontop of the $300 Energy Efficiency Alberta rebate. I know in Edmonton there's an additional rebate offered by the city, however, I'm not in Edmonton.They said that there were bumps due to a system change, however it seems to me that there's simply not an understanding over how the billing works, and this is a big issue that I believe needs a complete overhaul.From how I understand it, it is $450 for the service, plus GST, plus a $39 mileage fee. The $300 rebate then gets taken off from the overall total.On the flipside, Matt was courteous, thorough and answered all of my questions and showed me where there were areas of concern. The report does take some time (3 weeks) to receive, but he went over what to expect and it seemed very straightforward.I cannot say that I would recommend this company due to the billing issues that were resolved when I sent the correct invoice back to the office for their records. While Matt was very professional and apologetic for the errors and miscommunication, it seems they have some kinks to work out.EDIT: I have reduced my 3 star rating to 1 star. We have been waiting for the report to be filed with the correct agencies, and I have inquired a few times. While Matt has been quick to respond to all messages until the most recent and provide the information required, after 4 weeks of waiting we have found out that the file number was NOT submitted to Natural Resources Canada as promised, which has caused a significant delay in submitting paperwork for the renovations and work that has since been done.I am not at all a fan of performing work that should be handled by a company to begin with, and this is now twice that I have had to find information on my own. I should not have to create a proper invoice for myself, nor should I have to dig around to find out if the paperwork was filed properly. Nor should anyone else. While the auditor was good while he was here and in follow up interactions, I do not have confidence in this company as a whole.

Alex did a very good job for pre and post processing. He gave me the report for pre-evaluation in 3 weeks in the middle of summer when it was too busy. Post processing evaluation report was prepared in just 3-4 days!

Everyone at Sun Ridge has been a treat to work with. Their expertise in and passion for housing science is extremely evident.

Keith Weber came and was very thorough and knowledgeable, explained everything in layman’s language and answered all my questions .

Keith performed my audit today and he was professional, friendly and offered some really good advice!

Alex was very knowledgeable and super helpful, informing us on how the rebate for green homes grant works, how to maximize the refund, how the procedure works, basic tips on the house insulation different products to use etc. Very prompt response whether by phone/ voice mail, email or even receiving docs in the mail. I was afraid of the process but it sure has been a breeze and much easier to handle and get through!

I had Alex from Sun Ridge come out this year to do my pre and post energy audits. He was prompt and efficient but he also took time to talk to me. He offered useful advice on simple things I could do to improve my energy efficiency and asked questions to make sure I was taking advantage of any available grants and tax credits. He was very knowledgeable and thorough, which left me feeling confident I was getting the most out my energy audit.

We had Sun Ridge evaluate our home for the grant and they were really good to deal with. The guy that came to our house really knew his stuff.

I had matt in Edmonton come out to do a energy audit on my home so I can do the rebate upgrades through the efficiency Alberta Program. He was polite seemed professional enough. What I didn’t expect was the miss information given at both the pre and post upgrade audits. When he said that upgrading the. 3 items qualifies for the $1000 rebate I upgraded the main 3 items (furnace, tankless hwh and hrv) which he said both before and after qualify. Later to find out that the hrv does not qualify. If he would of told me this previous to my upgrades I would of not chosen to waste my money and do some other upgrade on the list. So now I wasted money and I’m out of the bonus$1000. All thanks to the misinformation that I was given from their adviser.

Keith was here to do assessment for government grant. We are having windows installed. Keith was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. He gave several helpful pointers.We are giving Keith the 4/5. We will post again after windows are installed, and post assessment completed
