So many adorable and friendly cats! We found the perfect cat for us during our visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I adopted our cat Jett from here 2 years ago and he's been the best addition to our family we could have hoped for! The staff was friendly, and helpful in every aspect of the adoption!

A nicely run shelter with staff that really cares about animals. Janet is the most amazing rabbit whisperer who is truly passionate about the animals.

This is a very clean no-kill shelter that genuinely cares for the animals that find their way here. Although it is small, it adopts an impressive number of cats, dogs, rabbits, and other assorted small animals. It could easily utilize a larger building but as a donation-only based charity it is not financially viable at this time. This kitty was a rescue from there.

My partner and I traveled to the Alliston Humane Society when we were ready to adopt a new rabbit into our family. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and generous with their time.When we made the unexpected decision to adopt two rabbits they had the supplies we needed on hand (for us to purchase) to accommodate our choice.They kindly guided us through the beginning steps of the bonding process and are continuing to support us as we work towards pairing our two new beautiful boys.I simply cannot say enough good things about the volunteers, and want to thank Janet, Emily and Shale's foster mom (sorry, I can't recall your name!) specifically for being so helpful to us and for caring so much about the bunnies in their care.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I took in 3 dogs that were on the loose, kept them in my home. Bathed them, loved them & took care of them. I spent 3 hrs knocking on doors to find no one knew them, they were seen trying to get inside a barn in the harsh weather & seen earlier that week sleeping in a ditch. Bylaw took the dogs to the humane society (which I offered time and time again that we would foster them and give more than just 5 DAYS for an owner to come forward) over a social media posting. They told us after the 5 day protocol of being in the cage that we would be given the option to have them back. My neighbor has tried since the day they picked up the dogs to get the one female back. They are EXTREMELY unprofessional & clearly not organized. Broke a lot of hearts in doing so. Begging for foster homes, yet take dogs from a safe loving home. Wouldn’t even come inside and see my home, talk with my vet. Nothing. I offered to have them vetted at my expense as well.Do yourself a favour and stay away. They shouldn’t be in business. As you can see from half the reviews, many people have some similar opinions.

Huge outdoor pens for both dogs and cats. And even bunnies. Long rural walking trails for the dogs. Smells clean - which must take a lot of effort. Even gardens are well maintained. Kudos to the large family of dedicated volunteers that keep this place running.

I strongly do not recommend getting a dog from this humane society. Though the staff were very friendly through the process, we were not told an accurate history or personality of the dog at all. It's a really dangerous way to adopt out dogs. Now I have close family that is a new dog owner and has a dog with strong behavioural issues and is not what we were told he was. We were told when adopting that there was nothing wrong behaviourally with the dog and he would be good with everyone all our other pets.It's a blatant lie, dangerous, and they are one of the only humane societies I know that doesn't temperament test their dogs before adopting them out. We have close family that have had a similar experience with more than one dog. I can't speak to any other species, but find someone else if you're looking for a dog.

My kids wanted a rabbit and I am honestly super grateful for the open house so we could see what rabbits need. The team was very honest about how much work it would be. My kids had a reality check when they saw first hand, and we made the smart decision to hold off on getting a rabbit for now!

This company takes animals always from owners and resells them for profit. This just happened to my husband and I. We found these poor dogs wondering the street and taking shelter in farm barns. We called Alliston Humane society they said they couldn't take them, but two days later they called us telling us we have to surrender them to the Alliston Humane society ASAP or we will be arrested???? The humane society said they will hold them in cages for 5 days to see if owners try to contact them and if we want her back we will have to BUY$$$ her back from them. This seems very illegal. I am currently looking into my rights. What a shady business. Do not Trust them . ( 0 stars)
