Consulate General of Japan

Would give 0 star if possible. I tried to call them through phone to consult some questions, but the customer service didn’t answer any of my questions and hang up my phone while I was still talking. The staff here is rude, he won’t let you finish your sentence and is unable to provide any help at all. He cut my sentence multiple times and was very impatient (which was clearly shown on his face). The only person who made me feel respected was the security, he was nice and polite. Overall, if you have any other options to apply for Japanese visa, please don’t go here.

Amazing service. They are very kind to accept missing documents via email and help to print it out. The staff also pointed out several places in the application that require additional details and waited patiently for me to fill out.The view is unbeatable.

Awesome experience....Located right next to Pinnacle Hotel....If you are going by car, there is underground pay parkings available (Charge 3.25 CAD per 30 min and more) on both sides of the consulate building. Street pay parking also available.If taking sky train, it's 5 min walk from Burrad station, which I found more convenient.Walk-in for visa no appointment needed.In the building take elevator to 9th floor and take right from elevator for the Visa.Polite and helpful staff.... Went there around 9.30. After entering took the token/number from machine at the visa window. Had to wait only 5 minutes before my number was called, since my visit was short they mentioned which visa will be applicable and took only Application form, photo, PR card copy, return ticket and passport from me.Though I took Bank statement, T4, itinerary etc but it wasn't needed. Provided me the receipt for passport pickup (Processing time 5 working days).For transit visa only 1 CAD will be charged while picking up the passport. No fees/charges while submitting application or if your visa is rejected.Entire process took 20 min.Visa application time 9.30 to 11.30 AM and pickup time 1.30-4.30 PM.

super fastOn the 9th floor, maybe close to the end of the year, only 3 numbers before. For a one time visa, i've prepared the documents that are listed on their website, nothing more required on site. 15mins for the whole process

Worst embassy experience in the world. I m permanent residence of canada having 13 visa stamp on my passport including usa 10 year multiple visa. I came here for transit visa. She was rude and unprofessional. I just can’t believe it. I visited many countries embassy but this was worst.

Extremely friendly & helpful. Security guard there was also a very good man.

Very nice staff, they provide excellent service and issued my visa free of charge. Just be sure to bring all the documents they list on their website , nothing more should be required.

If I could give 0 star I wouldThis place is a joke, the person who is responsible for answering questions barely speak English and communication was a huge problem, on the top of that he was reluctant to give information.I came here to ask about how my kids who has Japanese passport can travel from Japan to Canada with no legal guardian or parents and the guy who I talked with just gave me a paper with a list of documents necessary to apply for Japanese visa, when I try to explain better he kept saying things about applying for Japanese visa, and in the end before I give up on asking what I really wanted, the attendant gave me a paper with the consulate email and address and he said email us if you have any other questions.After they don’t answer my question I sat down at the sofa in the consulate lounge and started to write an email to ask the questions I had and after 10 min I was told by the same person who attended me to leave the place for security measures, very disrespectful.Anyway big waste of time, if you have any questions just don’t bother coming here you are going to waste your time and get very frustrated.No wonder why the overall review is very bad.Ps.: Again the answer from consulate has nothing related with my question. Let me try to be more clear my Japanese kids are traveling from Japan to Vancouver and either my wife and me are not going to travel together with them so NO PARENTS / NO LEGAL GUARDIAN, WHAT KIND OF DOCUMENTS OR AUTHORIZATION DO I NEED TO PRIVIDE TO ALLOW MY KIDS TO TRAVEL?

Great staff, clean and fresh atmosphere, and efficient service. Lovely.Because of it, I got my Japanese visa and had the best time of my life in Japan.

I had a great experience at this consulate general of Japan. The woman who helped me with my visa application was incredibly kind and helpful! All other employees also made sure to say hello ensure you were helped. For anyone wanting to go here, try not to only read the negative reviews.
