Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog

Right in the neighbourhood, newly opened and I was intrigued by a Rice Hotdog!You can choose the kind of hotdogs you'd like from beef, pork or a mixture of both.Then it's wrapped in a rice coating and deep fried. I had no idea but you'd have to wait for about 5 minutes as it's cooked to order - made fresh.Then you get to choose your topping and your sauce. Your hotdogs gets dressed and off you go to enjoy a tasty treat with plenty of texture and umami flavour.I chose the Volcano Hotdog, my husband tried the Jumbo and the Sweet Potato. We tried the Sweet Garlic sauce, the hot and spicy mayo, and the Sweet Chili sauces. I was impressed that they had veggie options here too!The staff were very quick with our order, answered our questions as it was our first time ordering and smiled and were kind. It's right across the street from the Metrotown Skytrain on the Southside on Beresford. There are picnic tables right outside where you can enjoy the public street art sculptures.We LOVED it and will definitely be back! Come and check it out too.

It seems they were prioritizing takeout and delivery orders before the customers waiting there. We noticed they had packed six 5-pack boxes they received after we ordered before starting on ours. The wait for two hot dogs ended up being 30+ minutes. Hot when ready because they make them to order. Plethora of sweet and savoury toppings and sauces to choose from which elevate the taste of the crispy hot dog, which can be quite plain without the extra add-ons.

I tried 2 hotdogs and was impressed with how they were prepared. The crust is crispy on the outside with sausage and cheese on the inside, it's a great combination. Overall, Chung ChunHot dog shop is a great destination for those who love hot dogs and want to try different, unique and flavorful dishes.

I thought the food was quite tasty but getting it took about 25 minutes. The wait would’ve been better if there was seating. I understand they don’t have enough space for seating but it would be nice. I also don’t recommend the pineapple ade, it tasted good but it was $3.50 filled half way with ice and a very small cup ~225ml. The corn dogs however were definitely good. I just wish it didn’t take so long to get them.

We have a regular one and a Mozzarella and hotdog one. The Mozzarella and hotdog one was not as expected. It actually has Mozzarella cheese in the first half and hotdog in the second half, instead of wrapping each other together or around. It’s often busy there, and you’ll need to wait for like 15-20 minutes if there are 3-4 people waiting in front of you. So don’t go there if you’re in a rush.

Very tasty hot dog lots of different flavours no GF options though. A bit pricey for a hot dog or better know as a corn dog

Went to visit on Sunday. Loved the potato and the half mozza corn dogs.. definitely will try other options next time. The potato one was crunchy on the outside and the half mozza really gooey on the inside. Really want to try the rest of the options.

4.5/5A tad slow on the service, but food is consistent with other locations. Great spot for a small snack. There are many options but you can never go wrong with the original hot dog. Would recommend have sweet potatoes as the topping. For the sauces, they have recommendations when you receive the hot dog.

Recently got chance to visit this place. They have so many options even for chicken and veggie. I tried whole mozzarella and chocolate dog. Both were super awesome in taste and so flavourful. Will be coming back soon to try more flavours.

A nice snack, I liked that you can mix and match the sauces and seasoning. The store is small with no seating, so finding a spot to wait for your food is the problem.
