Glenmore Landfill

Weekends when most people are doing yard work or dump runs the line up to get in was atrocious,one booth open when it should have been two. Public pay big tipping fees to use the facilities City of Kelowna could at least accommodate us and get us in and out in a timely fashion

Most staff was friendly enough (except for one staff member was extremely rude) however there is a massively nonsensical policy that is not posted anywhere on the website and they don't tell you until you arrive. If you want to dump from a trailer they make you wear a vis vest and steel toes. There is ZERO information about this...leading you to show up, have to leave, drive around looking for one, and come back...wasting a ton of time. What's even more infuriating to this utter waste of time, was when I came back with a vest for the 30 seconds I would be outside my truck, I look over and see a guy in a t shirt and flip flops out there. One staff member was extremely rude when I asked if I could simply borrow one...he had one sitting in his truck and wouldn't let me borrow for literally how long it took to exit my truck, press a button, and get back in. If you're going to have a policy like this, post it on the website instead of wasting people's time. Also, signage is confusing and unclear. One lane to exit and pay (the second one looks useable too until you get to the very front and there's a TINY sign saying you have to have a commercial pass forcing you to have to back up). All in all, a process that should have taken me 10 minutes turned into an hour and a half ordeal over a vis vest. Ridiculous but not surprising this is typical of the City of Kelowna. I now understand why there is rampant illegal dumping in this area as they make it as inconvenient and difficult as possible to use this landfill. I hope I never have to go here again... absolutely terrible. Try posting basic information and requirements on your website to stop wasting people's time.

You guys need a better system for prices. I understand $15 per matress, but then adding the weight of those matresses to my garbage to try and charge extra isn't cool. The weight of the matresses costs more than the mattress charge.When disputing this, they'll basically threaten you with bylaw. No other way to dispute pricing. Then wonder why people are dumping up service roads... You guys are crooks, I'll be going elsewhere from now on since someone clearly has their hand in the cookie jar.Get your prices under control or make a system with some discretion.Edit to review as reply: No, sorry, I won't be lining back up at the scales over again after dumping a couple matresses, that's rediculous. Last time I was there I waited in line for over 15 minutes.If you guys seriously can't come up with a better system on your own (I don't doubt it) email me, and I'll figure it out for you. This is sad.

Ariel and Nate both exude exceptional customer service. I just love this landfill. Very organized and clean for a landfill, I get a flat tire almost every time I go somewhere else. I actually enjoy coming to this establishment.Travis Ashley, Ashley Artscapes

Staff is super friendly but that has steadily slowed down pace of entrance. One particular new staff member is just simply wasting time chatting while both lines of traffic are all the down to the turn off.

Old guy working at the recycling today (March 23) is a joke. We’ve come here to drop off a quarter of a truckload of recycling weekly for months, my partner does it on behalf of his buddy on a regular basis.We pull up and the guy instantly says “25 bucks” and we get out and show him most of the truck is filled with garbage (3/4 of the truck) for up top at the dump. He argues with me and says they’ve charged over a year now, despite us coming every week and dumping the same amount of cardboard every single week, 2 at most.Since we’ve never paid, nor had problems - another guy that works there sometimes helps us unload! Super nice guy! - we left to take it to the in town recycling which is still free.He wasted our time, our gas, and added an extra trip on. Grumpy old a$$ should be fired or have some customer service training.

Was in today (07/11/2022) around 130pm and was very pleased with the friendly service from the gentleman helping me with getting a yard of ogo grow into my truck. Just nice to see a smiling face and hr easy to talk to. Happy to leave a review for good service as it's hard to come by these days!

Why couldn’t someone leave a message on phone when one calls re state of fire at landfill as some people have concerns re air quality

The team there is what makes the difference. They are always very friendly an super helpful. Today I popped my tire and I got help instantly. They pumped it up and tried to fix it and helped me park it in a safe spot until I was able to get a tow truck. A+++++
