I have bought 3 bikes and all of my gear from Ascent Cycle over the last four years. Adam and his staff are great. They know their bikes cold and ask the right questions to get you onto something that fits your budget and goals. They're also great when you want to upgrade, on my Ibis Ripley AF that I had for two weeks before breaking the cassette (my fault BTW) they were more than happy to make a few upgrades while replacing the cassette at nothing more than the cost of the parts. The discount they offer off of accessories like helmet, shoes, etc when you buy a bike is excellent as well. I enjoy the candid conversations with their staff when I drop in. I still consider myself a complete novice and I learn way more about my bike just spending 15 minutes in the shop than I would online or locally through clubs.I feel bad for Ascent in 2021. All the bike shops in Lethbridge have been badly hurt by the surge in demand during Covid-19 for outdoor sports. I was extremely fortunate to find exactly the new bike I wanted at Ascent by going in during March when new stock is arriving and most people aren't looking. Last time I was there, someone new to the sport was clearly upset that Ascent had no bikes in their price range to sell and a waiting list for those bikes. That is not on Ascent, or Alpineland/Bert and Macs. Demand for bikes has effectively doubled or tripled while supply is tight. Taking it out on someone whose trying to help isn't going to help them get you onto a bike faster, what doesn't exist doesn't exist. The staff still handled the irate customer well and made sure to get them on the waiting list even after the negative encounter.

Finally decided to move from a road bike to a mountain bike .I found all of the staff extremely knowledgeable and friendly.Very patient with my 2 months of tire kicking before I pulled the trigger.Great bike , good price,.My go to place for anything bike related.It's no surprise that the shop was super busy every time I visited.

I was passing through town and needed a flat repair on my ebike. I know how to change out a tube but I had never done it before on an ebike with a rear hub motor. Not only did they get me in the same day, Matt showed me how to disconnect and remove the rear wheel so I could do it myself in the future if ever needed on the side of the road. He also replaced the rim tape (which likely caused the tube to puncture) and adjusted my front brakes.These guys are top notch! I highly recommend Ascent Cycles to anyone needing a bike service or purchasing a bike.

These guys are awesome. Got me in same day to change the tube on the rear on my fat tire ebike. Super affordable and great service. Highly recommend!! Not alot of places carry the tube size I needed and they had it in stock. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Labor was cheap to change it as well. And fast!

I was a little intimidated coming in for the first time not knowing anything about bikes, but after walking in, that of all disappeared. Super friendly staff, great knowledge and a lot of products to choose from. It wasn't long before my interest in riding my bike to work became a full blown obsession with buying multiple types of bikes. Love this store

As a Transgender person and first time customer, I was treated with respect and kind customer service.My MEC road-bike that I've had for 10+ years went in for a tune-up but primarily for 2 flat tires with my own new treads. I communicated via email (after bringing in my bike, only phone bookings which somehow don't get recorded, so when you bring in your bike you need to repeat what you want done) and the bike shop was very responsive and nice.**My tune-up** involved brakes, bolts, chains, brackets, hubs, wheel truing, flat tires change and new cables. My bill was $120. My bike is riding smooth and sturdy once again, feels new!This bike shop does deserve the high rating and worth the long wait to get your bike fixed (I waited 2 months in the summer).

Extremely friendly and completely non judgemental as we are very new into mountain biking. Highly recommend everyone to go here, no matter their biking knowledge or abilities. Thanks for your knowledge and help.
