went for dinner with friends. everything we ordered tasted great (egg hoppers, dosas, chicken and prawn karis, all the chutneys and sambal). very friendly staff and wonderful ambience just by the canal (glad we sat outdoors as the noise level indoors was very high when we passed on our way out!)

Great service and flavours, undermined by poor quality base ingredients and aspirational pricing!Challenged by the popularity of Kings-X, we waited around 40 minutes at the bar (from 7:45) until being seated.Once ordered, dinner was fast in arriving, sadly though the meat in two of our dishes was poorly cooked - full of fat & gristle and very tough to eat. Photo attached. Also, £5+ for a spiced pancake (dosa)?! Bonkers.

Hopper’s has three branches in London. We came to the one at King’s Cross for lunch on a weekend. It’s spacious with outdoor seating, lovely and friendly staff members. First time trying Sri Lankan cuisine, something I have never had before. It was an interesting experience. Initially I expected it is somewhat similar to Indian food, but turned out it’s more on the spicy and sour side in contrast to the rich and intense spice from India. Ordered the mutton rolls, the bone marrow, jackfruit and mushroom Kothu roti and also the Podi dosa. The mutton rolls were fire, it was so delicious. I also love the dosa so so much. This place is definitely worth giving a try.

We thoroughly enjoyed this evening dinner here at Hoppers. Everything ordered was flavoursome, exquisite, authentic, beautifully cooked and devoured! We recommend to order at least 2-3 starters for 2 people as you get more variety of dish and flavours. The food was served fast, as soon as each item was ready. Overall, very happy and would visit again. One down side is they only accept card payments and not cash!

Excellent dining experience at Hoppers, this was the first time I'd had Sri Lankan fair in a restaurant. I highly recommend the tasting menu, there's a lot of food so good value for money.

Amazingly tasty food with super crispy roti. The dahl is a great texture to eat with the roti and hoppers. The dosas aren't served with chutneys so you have to order them separately which is a little strange as they are included at many other restaurants.Restaurant is always busy so can be loud inside.

I don’t know why this place has 4+ ratings. They are neither authentic nor taste simply spicy.. the tasting menu has no mentions of everyone in the table should take tasting menu if you want it and we took one veg and one non veg tasting menu. The portion size was a bit surprising and it wasn’t quite filling as well. The fact we had to order sides for hoppers separately was putting me off. Service was quite bad as no one cleared our table despite multiple requests and the table of 2 was too small to keep other items. The restaurant added a £1 in the bill for donation without our consent which is quite rude and taking us for granted. Given it’s for charity we didn’t raise it but it’s so unethical of them

Hoppers was our first Sri Lankan experience and we enjoyed it!The dishes were packed with flavour and deeply satisfying. The portions are small and even though it is suggested to order multiple items for sharing; main dishes such as the Kari weren't any bigger than the Drumsticks side but double the price. The staff was friendly and attentive, which is not a given in times of staff shortages. At the time the only lassi was unavailable so we tried the savoury buttermilk drink - Masala Buttermilk. It's a new favourite of mine! Spicy and refreshing at once. The Pol Roti was fabulous and so was the Jackfruit + Mushroom Kothu Roti. I'm glad I had the chance to try these dishes.Thank you for looking after us!

One of the only places in the area with space on a late Wednesday lunch, but happy to have stopped in. The dishes were all very tasty - creamy curries, paneer with a kick, and a nice balance of fresh ingredients and textures. Really enjoyed the kothu as a great take on street food that was a bit different from usual menus.Great to see a large choice of well indicated and creative vegetarian and vegan options.Portions were a little small and when intended to share many seemed a little on the expensive side.
