I have been going to San Francisco on Clinton since the 70s and always told whomever that yours are the best. Had hot veal sandwiches for lunch and probably the worst I have ever had! The bun is too small the veal was tasteless and didn't have the mushrooms I had ordered. The olives are old and dry and the sliced salami was way overpriced and just wrong. How did you guys ruin what was a great sandwich? The Monarch tavern wasn't even open. Drop the breading on the veal go back to original buns and fresh olives and salami and the hot peppers were old and no tast. Let us know if you fix it and have a great day, Hugh Currier

I have been going here for decades. I never give bad revtbit the bun is so stale that I falls apart and flys away when you bite. I know the business but it's demanding to pay and get a bad meal.

I learned about this place from a delivery truck driver. The meat sandwiches are the specialty of the place. Excellent meat sandwiches at a reasonable price for work day lunch or if you are seeking to absorb alcohol. They also offer olives and other things to snack on. You order, receive food and then leave to eat elsewhere.

My family and I went to this restaurant for dinner our meal was ready and when I opened my order it was made incorrectly when I brought this to their attention I explained that now our family would not be eating together as I would have to wait another 15 minutes for them to make another there response was sorry with no more then me having to wait for my meal my family were finished before mine was brought to me this meal cost $47.00 dollars for three people their handling of their customer service is terrible the girl was rude and said they were making another didn’t care that the family wouldn’t eat together not the way you treat your customers with no respect. We Will not be going there again to pay $47 dollars for three and and treated with no respect

It's been awhile since I've been back here, and now I know why. Got the eggplant parm sandwich. Good size, but the bread was a little old and the eggplant greasy. I like that all the toppings are included though and they don't nickle-and-dime. Service was very friendly and professional. The neighbourhood is still old school but the inside no longer has that charm I remember it to have.

Located right in the heart of Little Italy, I don't think this place has changed in over half a century. This is their flagship store and is the original one.Their sandwiches have stayed consistent forever! I remember going here as a child with my father and I can barely eat half of a sandwich when I was a child.I really like how they're recipe and sandwiches have remained unchanged. This is a very popular hang out has you get to see many people in the community there as well. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who loves authentic Italian sandwiches.

I’ve been to every San Francisco restaurant and this place is by far the best location the veal sandwiches are in my opinion the best in the city whenever I’m in the neighbourhood I stop by for a bite I highly recommend checking this place out

Very disappointed. We paid $40 for a pizza that was nothing but dough. Never seen pizza dough so thick. We got a meat lover's and there was hardly any toppings of meat. Our extra cheese wasn't even fully melted. Couldn't finish it at all. Will not order pizza from them again.

Definitely not veal but beef meat was very dark and tough bun and sauce still good but not same hot veal sandwich like before let down.Also banana peppers were used now it’s jalapeño not the same it’s all in the small things that used to make Sam Fransisco sandwiches great but unfortunately not now.Was there 11:40 am June 17

I had the panzorotti and my wife had the lasagna. Everything was delicious and hot!!! Sheila our server was very awesome and we will come back again. Thanks again Sheila!!!
