The objects of the club are:to encourage members to become proficient in the personal management, maintenance, control and handling of their yachts, in navigation, and in all matters pertaining to seamanship;....BUT they mow down smaller vessels purposely creating a dangerous wake putting other boaters at risk of being injured or killed. They do not follow the rules, travel at speeds not permitted inside the Toronto Harbor. The passenger ferry operators should be fined and the business closed down.

Great service, but they should be conscious of passengers who are running to the ferry. I've missed the ferry a few times by literally seconds, because the operators simply don't care to check if anybody is rushing to get to the ferry from the parking lot -- this is a simple check before the ferry departs.

It's a very nice club occupying some great real estate right on its own island and at St George and Bloor. It's extremely well run and has a big membership. It's a very classy old world experience right here in Torontoz

This is the launching station for the private ferryboat (tender) from the mainland to the RCYC sailing club on the Toronto islands. So it's a private/paid parking lot, a simple clubhouse where you check in, and the line-up area for those taking the private ferryboat to the RCYC boat club. There is some free street parking down Cherry St & bike racks in front of the clubhouse building, in the NW end of the parking lot. You go through the clubhouse (a rectangular aluminum sided box) to meet the private tender. Very simple coffee machine station inside and an indoor waiting area, past the staffed check-in desk. The parking lot and staging areas are tidy and utilitarian. The tender boats themselves (Hiawatha and Kwasind) are old-time classic metal-and-wood launches with indoor & outdoor seating & rounded sterns. The tender ride to and from the island affords spectacular views of the city and gives one the feeling of having entered a seafaring film starring Katherine Hepburn & Humphrey Bogart.A friendly environment of people spanning a wide age range enjoying a shared interest (sailing). Tender boats occasionally populated with wedding groups who have rented the club wedding venues (additional ferries added as needed). Ferry schedule increases for club racing nights and is listed on the rcyc site. As per boating schedules generally - typically the tender will depart the dock in a timely manner - don't be late!

My son and fiancée were married at the RCYC a month ago. The location is perfect. The day was perfect. Get venue. The backdrop was the Toronto skyline.
