The Bistro by Liz is like being in France....while enjoying Halifax. I have been a patron since moving here in 1982. We lost this gem for a number of years. Liz has brought it back to its former charm with a fabulous menu, featuring many favorites from the original.I had Crepes Moroccan, they were even more wonderful than remembered. My friend had the Seafood Chowder, which was also amazing. A former Dal colleague, at a close-by table said the Beef Bourgogne is her favorite dish. The Shrimp dish was one just completed by the Chef...and just had to be photographed.Liz was on hand to say hello and chat. Her memory for guests is pretty fantastic. Highly recommended.

On a visit to Halifax for a conference, coincidentally ended up here three times - twice for lunch and once for dinner. The food was great! The service was awesome too. We had a great time! Would highly recommend if you are in the area. Don’t let the oddness of it being at the bottom of an apartment building put you off. It’s worth the trip to Liz’s.

5 stars all around, this place has to have the best atmosphere of literally any restaurant in Halifax. Super cute, french vibes, always poppin with other people, and a very good place to go on a date. The food itself is also fire, I recommend their potato skins, fish and chips, and definitely their brunch offering

A Halifax classic, a gem in the Halifax restaurant scene for many years. The newer restaurants may be fashionable but Le Bistro has maintained their place as a go to spot in HalifaxThe mussels were great really need a spoon for the delicious sauce. The Coquille and Seafood Crepes are very good and the seafood was very fresh. I forgot how good the lemon parfait pie is , next time I will get the large portion.Our server reflected the professionalism of the hands on owner Liz. We really enjoyed our evening dinner.

My husband ordered toast doree aux bananes and I ordered a croque monsieur. I was delighted to see banana bread French toast with bacon on the menu as those are all the things that my husband loves in one! My croque monsieur was alright. Wish there was sour cream for the potato skins. But otherwise it was ok. All entrees come with a drink. Not a bad place for brunch. I do wish they are open earlier and the service was alright.
