I used to work for this company and all i can say is that they are a hardworking, professional, well organized business that caters to not only the clients needs but also the employees needs. It was honestly the best 4 years of my life, would recommend for anyone new or old to the industry who take pride in their craft. The beautiful fences they put up will be remembered for a long time to any who see them.

This company is fantastic - Jason was great to work with and very professional and timely in his responses with any questions we had. We had a PVC fence put up and they showed up a week early and got it done in under 2 days. There was a minor mix up on the measurements but Bytown took care of the extra costs involved and they came back immediately when we noticed a miscolouration on one of the panels. They replaced it immediately and we are very happy with this experience in a day when it seems hard to find good contractors. Thanks! Roberto

Bytown Fence's two man crew did an incredible job in repairing our fence that was damaged in a recent catastrophic windstorm. It required the removal of multiple fence panels, removal of 6 old posts, installation of 6 new posts and re-installation of the fence panels. The work was done in an expedient, (1 day) and professional manner. Cleanup of the site was thorough. We chose Bytown because they built our beautiful backyard deck 15 years ago and they performed the same quality work again. We strongly recommend you consider Bytown Fence for your fence or decking projects.

We shopped around for a fence, and we received many quotes from many companies. Most, do not install a steel post in the posts themselves, but simply bury the PVC in the concrete. My fence was going to be 80ft long, 7ft high and I felt that without steel it would eventually fail due to wind load (its directly perpendicular to the normal wind directions we get).We settled on Bytown as they install all of their posts and lower cross beams with steel, and they ended up being cheaper then some of the quotes without the inserts (not the cheapest, but best overall). The only complaint we had at all, is that it seems _all_ of the fencing companies in Ottawa, do not carry a larger selection of PVC options (we were looking for dark wood colour and most only had the standard white/beige/adobe/grey options). The install team (Jason, Matt and Ben) were a young group of guys who did everything they could to make the install experience pleasant and effective use of time. They were very efficient, and were more then accommodating for some of our last-minute requests. These guys worked tirelessly even on days where it hit 40+'c.If your getting a fence installed from ByTown, ask for these guys, very good experience.

We were extremely pleased with Bytown Fence. Before the project began, we had questions and made changes to our original plan, which the company accommodated without a problem. The two workers who installed our fence were great and did an excellent job. They arrived on time, were responsive to questions and worked well together. Even with our sloping yard, they ensured the fencing went as close to the ground as possible. We are quite pleased with our new fence, as are our two small dogs.

We had our old broken fence replaced by Bytown Fence. The entire team at Bytown is very professional and our sales rep, Jason, was quick to answer any questions we had.Our new fence is PVC on two sides and Iron on the 3rd and Bytown had no problem getting us the exact colors and styles we wanted. We live in Kanata where the soil is very rocky and the crew handled the dig without taking any shortcuts.The fence is finished off well with great attention to detail. The whole job took under 3 days so it was minimally disruptive.

TLDR: Run away dont give them business not professional and frustrating company to handle.Detail:One of the worst company i have come across in handling a customer case.I came to know how the company is managed during intial days when the fence and door was getting installed. I was away from my house and bytown fence was working on group contract. They initially asked me for the money for the door that was not installed and even when i gave them the benefit of the doubt, they confirmed the door was installed which wasnt. After sending them email via my neighbour with a picture they confirmed that was the case.After they installed the door which seemed too heavy for the 4X4 pole (which any fence company would know better requires atleast 6X6 pole) but they did anyway to cut cost and did POOR quality job. I paid extra money for the hard dig but still got the door bending in less than a year (door was installed later in nov) and door bended by feb.To fix this issue I called and email them countless times for almost 2 months to fix the pole issue. In all of this I was in chat with Co-owner (as per their employee) of the company. Every time i got crickets that we are needing pictures so i sent them pictures, they wanted to send their own employee for pictures which they eventually did with no response afterwards and when asked further I get a response we are looking at the pictures and ultimately the final status is we lost pictures… straight up lies so that i would stop bugging them. And after all of this Mr. Ned sends out an email to my neighbour (who is not even part of the contract or any of their contracts) that material is not warranted. So you can imagine the frustration with them….With one clause that “they cant have warranty on material” they can get away with pretty much anything, even installation of wrong material for the job. If you are reading this review I would truly and honestly suggest you to look away and runaway from this company. They are not what they seem.0/5 stars

Bytown just completed a new fence for us (iron/wood hybrid) and we love it. The team was great to deal with, and we had our fence much sooner than we'd even hoped. The quality is excellent and it's exactly what we asked for. Friends and family are already asking us who did it!
