Great little lakeside patio bar and eatery! What a find! Excellent fish tacos and fries... with a view. Beer on tap etc etc. Will return.

What a great place to go and share infront of the water views for days ! Wonderful staff, with amazing service they really took the time to service us the best way possible. Even opened up the ice cream area after being closed. That attention to detail really goes along way !! Great food from their Hippos restaurant ( fish & chips is delicious.) Great place to sit, eat, relax & enjoy - a Caribbean feel in Ontario! Thank you to the great staff

While out with a friend at Long Beach I suggested going to Hippos for some food, as I have been there before and the foods great and usually a good atmosphere. This time me and my friend (who is not white) were being stared down by the patrons, the ENTIRE time. While the workers there had the upmost respect for us, it was not a nice feeling for people trying to intimidate us because he is a different colour. While we were leaving an older man pulled up in his truck across from us and literally starred us down until we left. I will never go back. I don’t respect any business that allows their customers to create that type of environment. It’s 2023 and we are in Canada, get with the times!

I was looking to take a friend from out of town for a perch dinner.....happened to be on a Tuesday, when it is hard to find. Hippos came through on a recommendation, and it did not miss.Great spot right out on the water with a real chill vibe. Order and take your number, grab a seat and visit the bar on the other side of the patio.One had the complete perch dinner $21 and the other the fish tacos for $12?....all in all a great experience and a great place to catch some sun and views and relax over some good food and a beer.

Hippo’s at Mowhaw Marina is a fantastic place to unwind and refuel after a day at the beach. The atmosphere is welcoming, and their snack selection is impressive. Pair that with a refreshing beer, and you’ve got a winning combination.The only downside I experienced was the wait time for food. It’s worth noting that it can take up to 30 minutes for your order to be ready. While it may test your patience, the delicious flavours and food quality compensate for the delay.

We are local to the area and love Hippos. It can feel like you are down in Key West on a sunny day. The fish tacos are my favourite. It can be busy on the weekends so we try and go during the week. Fries are great too. When we get visitors we always take them there!

Great service, lovely views, great oldies music! Chicken sandwich and jalapeno poppers were good, though the fries were pretty awful- dry, and strangely textured. Would definitely return for the atmosphere.

The perfect weather to sit outside and enjoy fish and chips, perfectly done. Great service and don't forget to order a cold beer. The bartender is friendly and can make you any drink you want. Definitely going back♥️♥️♥️

What a pleasant surprise this place was! The perch tacos were incredibly fresh and, after talking to the cook, we learned that everything here is homemade. Even the perch in the tacos was locally caught. The chicken burger was extremely tasty. Also, the shrimp in a basket came with crunchy breaded shrimp with a spicy cocktail sauce and thick cut fresh homemade fries. The setting is spectacular being right on the waterfront. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who's coming through the area. Looking for a good meal.
