Nice place for family outings ample activities even in winter. Good to see greenery and flowers in winters. Respite from dull environment. I am sure it without be much better in summers hence 4 stars. Parking is free.

By far my favorite area of the RBG. The Christmas Cacti (heck the whole succulent collection is amazing), Birds of Paradise in bloom are amazing and even when they're not in season there are so many other treasures to be found here from Mediterranean areas around the world. The Koi pond with its friendly fish are a delight.Outside the greenhouse, check out the the Bromeliad exhibit by the gift shop and the orchid exhibit leading up to the carpeted auditorium area that currently has a cute train exhibit for the holiday season.Been going here since I was a little girl!

Royal Botanical Gardens - Mediterranean Garden
A wonderful speciality garden, housed in a dedicated greenhouse accessed through Royal Botanical Gardens headquarters. The warm, humid climate replicates that of the 5 Mediterranean climate zones and provides an opportunity to see the beauty that flourishes in these areas. From various cacti to the stunning Bird of Paradise blooms, from fruiting citrus to eucalyptus and a koi pond, there is endless interest for all ages. It's particularly delightful as a break from the chill fall and winter outside.

Royal Botanical Gardens - Mediterranean Garden
I loved exploring the succulents house with the giant cacti and all the tropical plants. It was also lovely to see the acanthus leaves that is the inspiration behind the corinthian columns.
