My adult child and I went for the winter camping experience, albeit in late April, it was a lovely spring day. I was surprised that only walk in tenting was available to us, as the PC website we read didn't mention that, and we were intending to use our car as organizing space - just a casual one night, and one of us has a valid medical need for it, but uncomfortable to disclose to a stranger. I asked if we could pay for an RV space instead, something I've done many times to get plug in service, etc, at private campgrounds, but was refused, because it's for RVs only...and car camping"

Loved this place. Even though it rained the entire time, the washing facility was clean and dry. Having somewhere to wash dishes was good too. Nice and quiet, but I think the weather must have put a few people off. The fact that it's only 25 mins from our house is a bonus. Having the ability to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living in a matter of minutes is a bonus in my book. We will be back

Only part of the campsites have washroom and shower. And the part that did have them, only had one shower working. No electrical hookups. Extra happy for the sink for washing dishes.None of the campsites really have privacy. Mine was in a nook, so no neighbors, but a guy from a nearby cabin kept walking through my campsite on his way where ever. Smoking, playing music and peering inside my vehicle. Uncomfortable, unvanny and very unpleasant. Worse than the no privacy spots. The campground/beach is also place for Edmonton schools to bring busses on kids to see nature. I love kids, but several busloads of yelling kids sort of ruined the nature experience. There was no way to hear wildlife. Nor nature videos with sound.

Clean camp ground with shade, clean and nice bathrooms and showers with easy access to them all, even have handicap ones you can drive up too.Lot's of wild life both on the water and land. Saw many beautiful variations of butterflies, some black bunnies, et.The beautiful sound of the birds both in the water and around campsites is lovely to sit back and just listen too.A lot of day use areas with a really nice updated playground. Family and pet friendly, just have to make sure there is no blue/green algea in the water as it can be deadly to your pet.Beautiful to kayak. We had our own but I saw a sign that said they rent, although with covid I don't believe that was an option this summer. Also when covid is not an issue the gulf club has a place you can eat that's close by, otherwise your looking at almost a half hour drive to get to anywhere to eat.

As it was out first time visiting the walk-in tenting campsite, we didn't really know what to expect. I really have mixed feelings about it. The walk-in tenting is perfect for first time campers, or a small family with children camping for the first time because amenities are close and clean. There is a cooking shelter with picnic tables and stove free for public use, as well as multiple bathrooms and showers. That being said, if you are a seasoned camper, I do not believe it would be as enjoyable. There is no privacy between spots. You are right next to surrounding campers, nearly bumping tents. You are sitting within 15 feet of each others campfires. Close enough to listen to everyone's conversations. As it is a walk-in spot, you need to park your car in the lot below and carry all of your belongings to the site and then all of your food back down to your car at the end of the night.Astotin Lake has a very busy day parking lot right across the street from the tents, which you can hear over the course of the day and well into the night. You need to pay for your fire permit which is not included with your booking online, but most of the wood is soaked through. The wood you get directly in the walk-in tenting area is slightly covered on top, but generally open to the elements. If you walk a bit further down to the parking lot, there is more wood but it's completely uncovered and also wet.The trails are nice around the lake, a lot of great views. Be prepared to bring a lot of bug spray as the park is quite swampy, so expect a lot of mosquitoes at dusk and dawn. Watching Bison wandering around was also really neat as it was my first time seeing them. Despite that, I don't think I would return to camp and a day trip would be too far for me to drive.

The new renovations to the buildings, camp sites, and overall campground are fantastic! I’ve camped there many of times over the years and this is the best I’ve ever seen the campground. The bathrooms are clean and many of them have been renovated. The cook shelters are also newly renovated and very spacious. It is so nice to have great facilities so close to Edmonton. One of these times I’ll try out the walk in camp sites or a group site.

Fun experience, first time camping and my girl brought me out here. Very beginner friendly has all the amenities(washrooms, shower room) awesome camp sites.I was told firewoods were free. When we’re there they were $7.25 a bundle so that was really disappointing

Good place to camp during the summer, every campsite gets clean running water(cold) and firewood. Some campsites even got a small playground. Although the campsite we picked was a bit noisy during the morning and I couldn't sleep since it was near the road. The canoe rentals were limited to weekends so we couldn't canoe. At night there were tons of mosquitoes especially outside the bathroom since they were attracted to the light. I even saw a few deers and a buffalo.
