Asessippi Ski Area & Resort

First time skier - I was visiting for the weekend with some friends who were experienced skiers and snowboarders. My instructor Geoff was really great. Incredibly patient (I imagine you have to be to do this job!) and clear and concise when instructing and providing feedback. Guided me from nervously sliding down the bunny hill at the start to racing down some of the steeper slopes with confidence by the end of the 90 minute lesson. Can't recommend getting a lesson enough - especially if it's your first time or even just to get a tune up. It's money well spent. By the next day I was ripping down every slope with my more experienced buddies and it was a blast. Without that lesson, I would have been piddling away on my own all weekend. Thanks Geoff.

Overall experience is great. Normally Charter bus parking is good. Today it was ridiculous. People parking wherever they wanted. Even parking in front of the buses. They parked where there is no parking. To lazy to walk a little bit further. Oh no let's just park where we want blocking the buses or making it more difficult to maneuver out of the parking lot. Need better control of parking on the heavier traffic days.

All lifts and runs were open! Staff were friendly. Great music playing at all lifts. No waiting. Absolutely fantastic day on the slopes!!

Sad to hear there wont be a bike season this year. Had the most fun camping up top and riding down to the lift. Everyone working was AWESOME! Thanks for the laughs.

Best skiing in Manitoba. The staff (especially chair lift today!) are all about the fun vibes. Great for beginners. Nice chalet with decent pub food type fair. We go every year and always have a great time. Beautiful spot!

Pretty decent little ski hill, if you were a kid and grew up in this area, he would be a very good skier. I took advantage of the discovery pass program which includes lift pass rentals and a 1 1/2 hour lesson. Call with a very positive attitude, instructor and Shannon does a wonderful job of organizing everything down in the lodge. the rental equipment could use a bit of an upgrade, but is adequate. The ski hill itself had many fine intermediate Peaced that you could get some good speed on. The terrain perk was excellently layer out with nice flow.. actually, there are some very gnarly big air jumps that have nice steep landings. Also I enjoyed the mogul course that had a nice consistent, bumps it could have been a little steeper. All in all I would recommend this place definitely check it out.

At my school there used to be a tradition where in February, students who wanted to could go here either tubing, snowboarding or skiing. Only went 4 times, once tubing and the rest snowboarding. Loved it every year. Also once my cousin ran into the ski/board rack, got stitches.

Best place to downhill ski in all of Manitoba. A long 4 hour drive from Winnipeg, but the overall experience here is very good, making for a memorable ski trip. Snow was great last weekend, and they do good grooming for the runs. One negative is it would have been nice to have all chairlifts open. Staff on rentals, lifts, and restaurant lodge were all pleasant and helpful.
