The knowledgeable staff that live on-site truly care about all the men who live at the facility. I currently live here in acorn, it is an amazing support system lots of returning alumni, the setup for accountability is great and the fellowship we share is strong.I personally believe this place was my real recovery, I have never believed more in myself than I do now.And love among people who have gone to other recovery houses.They say this is the nicest, best furnished, best fed, most supportive house they’ve been too.The staff is Experienced in addiction and in recovery they help supportively Not shame based, like other recovery programs.while I’ve been here I’ve went from a fear perspective on life to a strong communicative person with values and fellowship, I love the people that come through here, cedars is the main recovery centre they come from which is Amazing and incorates spiritual values a lot.Ps a lot better than Edgewood (By far).

I went to treatment at cedars for 78 days and they kept suggesting I should go to acorn after my treatment. I finally caved in and said I would go to acorn , thinking I would only be there for 1 to 2 months tops....I ended up staying at acorn for the better half of 9 months hahaha!Treatment got me clean off of the booze and drugs bUt acorn gave me the firmest foundation I have ever had in life. I worked through my codependency there And still continue to incorporate the things I have learned into my daily life. I was able to work through a lot of my fears at acorn. For example I have always been fearful of conflict and expressing my true feelings to people and how to go about dealing with situations in a healthy way. At acorn you are living with a good group of guys that are all in the same boat and are striving to make a change in their lives so it was the safest place for me to be able to work on these fears of mine!I burnt my life to the ground before getting clean and with the help of acorn I started working part time doing landscaping and then ended up finding a career in Vancouver and I have my own place now with an alumni from acorn. That is all thanks to acorn and all of the staff there...they helped me every step of the way and I took all of their suggestions seriously and was patient with myself and my recovery. Things are continuing to work out well for me, I still stop by acorn and see all of the new guys and it helps me stay grounded in my recovery.The staff kept telling me you will never know who you will meet or what opportunities may arise in recovery and guess what? it’s true all of the good things including my new career is all from me meeting people through acorn and the program and having patience and taking suggestions!All in all great place, great staff, great guys, great food and great structured living over there!

I had the pleasure of staying at Acorn after Cedars on my road to recovery and it was one of the most memorable Experiences. The homes are welcoming and large. Staying at Acorn helped me transition back into my life and I’m thankful for that.

I highly recommend Acorn Recovery Living. It is the highest quality second-stage home in the Lower Mainland. Very good value for what is offered with the food, living environment and 24/7 staff.

Acorn offers excellent support for addicts in recovery. It's a place to slowly get back into the world with support and guidance from people who have experience in recovery. My son is there and I can't think of a better place for him to be.The community is a group of guys who understand each other and counsellors are always available because they live in the house with the community. There's structure and fun too (even with COVID-19 restrictions).My son is thriving there. He's working on understanding himself and his addiction and feels more confident every day about how to create a new life. He isn't isolated; doesn't have to go it alone and that's making all the difference. I feel a lot of gratitude for Acorn.

I am an Acorn resident currently and this place has taught me many great things about myself and keeps continuing to teach me extremely valuable life skillsI am so grateful for the amazing people here in Acorn they all helped me. During my first month at acorn I was an extremely difficult client due to certain personal dynamics and also being a teenager the staff members were straight up with me and were understanding about the lack of life skills I obtained and decided to give me tons of chances at recovery and now I am happy and doing better and better
