Cancer Centre

Drove over an hour, $24 parking for a 30 min appointment. Staff don’t care. Communication is terrible. What a pathetic place that we have to rely on for treatment. Too bad we think you’re dying of cancer, you ate 4 hours ago when we didn’t tell you not to eat.Why don’t we wait 2 hours and do it then? Nope. Your appointments cancelled.These are important phone calls and people we love. The professionals here just suck!!!

I can't say enough good things about the Cancer Centre at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus. The staff are all amazing, from the oncologists to the nurses to the lab technicians to the volunteers. They are very knowledgeable and compassionate and they always take the time to answer questions and to explain and make sure you understand and treatments or procedures you are ongoing. Being diagnosed with and treated for cancer is never a pleasant process but the staff at the Cancer Centre do their utmost to make it as tolerable as it can be, even with all the COVID-19 restrictions. I feel blessed with my overall medical team in Ottawa and especially with my oncologist Dr. Goodwin and all of the nursing staff at the Cancer Centre. They are heroes.

What a wonderful place to be when having cancer and especially for the first time .It starts from entering the 4th floor from the elevator opens directly to the welcoming reception that makes my tension goes away, to the very elegant, clean , quiet environment like a five star hotel. Then comes the professional nurses who made me very comfortable and understanding the treatment program very well and supporting me when I was overwhelmed.I am very grateful to the radiology team who did my biopsies . Cindy too my surgeon secretary who was very patient with my calls .Also much more grateful to Doctor Gay the surgeon who cured my breast cancer mass plus healed my phobia from surgery and other procedures with his professional patient education and encouragement.Keep up the excellent work , without your support we cannot survive.

These people are marvelous. Caring and gentle with a sense of humor.

Incompetent doctors, uncaring nurses, sociopathic management team and general chaos and delays all around. Even third world countries have more timely and efficient care than this joke of a centre. Such a shame.

The cancer blood clinic is very efficiently run with excellent nurses. Second floor treatment is also well run and doing a good job with my bone injection needs.

Prostate cancer resolved through Radical Robotic Surgery 4 years ago and cancer free since, thanks in full measure to outstandingcare received by all doctors, nurses and orderlies. I owe you my life!

Dr. Laurie has been my oncologist for 11yrs. He has been referred to as a quarterback. I am fortunate to have this exceptionally skilled, hard-working, caring doctor. In general, the members of the Centre continue to provide great care, in face of great demand.

Dr. Michael Vickers, Oncologist, is a very kind, patient, and knowledgeable doctor who shows great empathy. He is always punctual and does not rush through an appointment. He is also very helpful and willing to answer any question that may arise. I am very fortunate that Dr. Vickers took me on as one of his patients. I would recommend him in a heart beat. Thank you Dr. Vickers!!!
