Champlain Animal Clinic

Had to edit this review.After using Dr Mahdi for the past 4 years I'm afraid to say this is the last time we will be using his clinic.My household has a 9 year old cat oscar who suffers from mega colon. On top of a twice daily medication (which isn't cheap) he's required (at the recommendation of the vet) to eat a royal canin vet formula gastro formula food that has added fibre to aid in the digestive process.My family member went to pick up the food for Oscar and as he was unaware asked a member of madhi's staff what food we usually buy.Dr Mahdi has told us before numerous times that he special orders this food with our cat in mind so his staff should know which food we're looking for.We were sold the wrong food. This wouldn't be a concern normally for most animals but my cat cannot digest the standard food and if you're familiar with mega colon his belly has inflated due to the inability to properly digest this incorrect food.He's already suffering in the perfect circumstances and this makes it worse.Not to mention we had just paid 700.00$ to have Dr Mahdi help relieve the build up from his proper food.700$ wasted and the doctor refuses to exchange a 70.00$ bag of food his staff sold incorrectly.We aren't beggers or difficult patients we have always taken his advice seriously and paid for everything he's suggested.Anyone will tell you a vet isn't cheap. But to have one so blatantly unwilling to take ownership and responsibility for his practice is a gigantic red flag.Would not recommend and will be advising all my fellow pet owners to avoid.

Always super nice, super polite and very helpful! Very reasonably priced and makes you feel part of the family there. They have been keeping our boy Ramsey happy and healthy since the day we got him. Highly recommend!

I called for a quote for a cat spay and was told 650 I called another vet and was told 345. This is high priced vet for same service. Shame they take advantage and people can't afford and that is why the animal population continues to grow

Professional, helpful, nice, and competent. Respond fast and book you in quickly too. Doctor explains things in detail and does not judge pet owners for not knowing things, unlike some other clinics I’ve been to in the past. I can communicate easilywith staff and they answered my questions about cat kidney disease and care over the phone. I had a hard time finding a reliable clinic and they are the best so far.

Dr. Mahdi is an awesome Doctor and more importantly an awesome friend. He was my first veterinarian for my first pet. He is very understanding and genuinely worries with you when your pet is sick. He really cares about the animals in his care and it shows. Thank you for your help with everything and for being incredibly passionate about your job!

They are so kind at this clinic and remember me and my cat's name when we go to buy food! My cat developed a long term bladder condition and they were able to recommend a food that mitigates the problem. He has been healthy ever since. They're also great at explaining the animals condition in detail and offering a step by step treatment plan, instead of immediately going for the full set of tests (other vets do this and it can feel like a money grab). Their prices are reasonable for the level of care that is provided. We go here for yearly check ups and he always leaves happy and relaxed.

This clinic is amazing. Dr. Madhi is an incredible vet and he truly cares for you and your animal. The ladies at the front desk are fantastic and friendly. I truly am so grateful that I found this veterinarian when my family and I moved to the area 2 years ago. I have an asthmatic senior cat now and they take such good care of him when we need it!

Dr. Mahdi is a compassionate, caring and awesome veterinarian. I have been visiting the clinic for years with my doodles as they have aged. I have always had good service and felt confident with the care my dogs received. When there has been an urgent situation they have made the time for me which as a pet owner is very comforting. I fully recommend this clinic and you always have choices to get second opinions but I fully trust Dr. Mahdi.The staff is to be commended on their professionalism as well. Thank you from my family.

The team at Champlain animal Clinic were quickly able to recommend a reasonable set of diagnostics/tests to quickly (and economically) identify that my dog had a tumor in her spleen. Then they quickly arranged for a surgery via their connect hospital and had the spleen removed for my dog (all of this within 2 weeks of stressful unknowns). The team did all this with a strong sense of empathy and we can't imagine having to go through that experience without their help! Thank you Champlain Animal Clinic!

Terrible experience at this vet. They shared results of a lab test over the phone and Dr Mahdi did not make a clear recommendation or make it easy to understand the results at all. I had to ask him to send the lab results so I could review myself and his comment was “they are very technical, you won’t understand”. That comment alone is was almost enough to put me off but then when I requested a response on a couple follow up questions after reviewing the lab result and prior to booking my next treatment they told me I’d need to book another consult (aka pay them more $$) to speak with the vet again. Go somewhere else if you want good care for your pet. I will never go back.
