Mike at Skinny Tax has been excellent, thorough, and compassionate. I lost my husband last year and he made the process of filing the final return so easy for me, and he even found a couple of deductions that had never been claimed. We had a tax planning meeting before year-end too, all with extremely reasonable rate. Mike has my business for as long as he wants it. :)

I contacted Mike to get my self employment taxes filed. At first he was fast to respond and accommodating, however he then disappeared. I emailed him several times asking to get them filed and was left hanging so now stuck doing it all myself. Not impressed, even a quick email reply would have let me know to seek help elsewhere instead of scrambling to figure things out.

I setup a meeting to go over my tax filling, waited for 15 min but the account did not seem to care much, so I left. If that's how they take care of their customers in the beginning, you wonder if your future experience will be any better. I told them my first impression was not a good one and I rather not give them my business. Also when I made appointment they did not even send an invite, I sent them an invite to make sure no one forgot.I hope other people have better experience than I did. I hope with this review, they will value new customers more.

Candace has been doing my and my wife’s taxes for several years now. She is fast, efficient and goes above and beyond in terms of customer service. I highly recommend her!

My husband and I dealt with Mike and he made the whole experience great. Thorough, respectful and knows every little thing to get the most out of your taxes. We learnt a lot from him about our taxes and explained everything to us without rushing anything. I can't say enough good things about Mike and his service. Just did my 2018 taxes with Mike and we found a number of pieces i have missed. I always knew we were missing something and Mike found them quick. Very fast, straightforward and to the point. The great reviews on here are no bs. Worth the call to see what they can do for you.

When I contracted her, I was assured that she would be able to do my 2022 taxes when I temporarily moved to bc. Since struggling to do my 2021 I’ve been informed that she can’t help me further and I should find someone local to bc. Which is temporary. I will be moving back to alberta. Since then I’ve been ghosted without explaining why she wouldn’t follow through on promised services. Services I was was clear about when looking around for someone last year to switch my business taxes over to. I will be finding someone new as the whole interaction was extremely unprofessional.

I've never really been one to write Google Reviews but Mike Hohol at Skinny Tax greatly assisted me with my 2016-2017 returns that were a huge mess because of a complicated situation I was in due to one of my former employers/jobs. At the time, I had done everything myself through Turbo Tax, thinking it was easy to do, and although Turbo Tax can seem easy, straight forward, and affordable, Turbo Tax doesn't know your exact situation and that can end up causing you to input numbers in places you shouldn't and such...Mike knew exactly what he was doing despite the mess I made of the returns, he fixed everything for me really quickly, he was always easy to reach through e-mail and responded quickly. He's a very personable and professional guy, it was always easy to schedule in appointments with him, and overall it was just a fantastic first experience with an Accountant.I filed my 2018 return with him as well, will continue to file with him when needed, and I've already recommended him to others.
