Pricey but excellent products and friendly staff

The store is dirty, and smells bad, my son got sick after half an hour and we had to leave. I think it was the dust, DO THEY EVER CLEAN?

The owner is very rude and disrespectful, he openly called me poor to my face, when I did not want to buy an over priced towel. The prices are as bad as the service, please do not shop here.

I love this store - mostly for the barefoot shoes as they're the only ones in Calgary who carry the Terra Plana Vivobarefoot shoes. Also, Riva and Andrew are passionate about barefoot living and are great to talk to about getting started.Their store is in a great location too - head over to Spolumbo's after shopping at Riva's and pick up some delicious sausage. Highly recommend checking out Riva's for quality, eco-friendly products :)

I love the people here. I'm not sure who commented that the service was terrible, but I think they must be mistaken about what store they were leaving the review on. I've been here literally dozens of times (all members of the staff actually recognise me when I walk in, and I don't even live in Inglewood anymore), and every single person working there is exceptionally kind and eager to help. In fact, I'd say their defining characteristic, that everyone working there seems to share, is a sort of -gentleness? If that's not too strange a thing to say.For products, this is the only place I buy paint now. I've painted 4 different rooms in 2 different apartments with the brand they carry (Mythic), and I'm an absolute convert. The Mythic paint is fantastic; it covers well, and there's very little odour, plus a wonderful variety of colours. Milk Paint, which I used to paint unfinished wood furniture, also fantastic, as was the hemp finishing oil. I'm now looking forward to putting on a couple coats of nice, matte, strange-old-house-wall-lumps-forgiving clay paint in apartment #3, and I will most certainly be purchasing it here.Oh, and their bedding is glorious. Still saving up for one of the greensleep mattresses! But both my pillows and my winter duvet are from Riva's. My boyfriend teases me about the price (the items ARE pricey, to be fair), but he can't deny the quality. Everything from this store is just BETTER than similar items from other places. Better quality, better design, and better for you and the environment you live in. Personally, I'm ok with shelling out a bit extra up front in order to not have to continually re-purchase items that wear out or degrade in short order, and I'm lucky enough to be at a place in my life that I can do that; if you're not at that place yet, I *still* recommend popping in here, just to window-shop all the lovely things they have and to chat with the staff. Very, very much worth a visit.

My wife and I have been looking for a new bed for some time. We had remembered visiting with Riva a few years ago when her shop was in Inglewood & were excited to hear that she had taken her shop in home. Riva provided an incredible environment. She was extremely knowledgeable and welcomed us in as if we were long-time friends. After receiving our Hästens bed, we cannot say enough good things about it. We have had incredible sleeps and will always own a Hästens. Furthermore, we will look to add beds as our kids get older. Thank you Riva for an incredible experience and fantastic sleeps here on out.
