Thai Basil Restaurant
Honestly, heard so many good reviews about this place from lots of friends, but got very disappointed. Got their pad thai, Tom yam and barbecue chicken, everything was really bad. I felt like throwing up while eating. Barbecue chicken was the worst, couldn’t even eat it because its smell was awful, my boyfriend didn’t even want to try it. The chicken was very greasy, and tasted very bad. The only good things I can say is that their Thai tea and mango sticky rice were good, and staff was very nice. Overall, I guess the portions are good for the price, and you can go there if you want pretty cheap price with good portions but don’t care about taste at all.

A good neighborhood restaurant worth visiting. No fancy decor. What it is selling is authentic Thai cuisine. Love the Pad Thai.

Food value are of excellent value. One of the better restaurants on this block. Quick eat (under 30 min). Quality assurance needs improvement. Ordered the same dish a couple times and once the rice was tough and partially uncooked.

Good food for the price- quite tasty but a little too much sugar for my taste, kind of killed the spice that I would expect from good Thai food. That said, food was tasty and more than satisfactory for the price considering the portion they give you as well.Cashew chicken and Tom Yum were great. Pad Gra Bow was a little salty for my taste.

I really liked this place.My standard for Thai food is always Pai or Sukhothai in Toronto but those places are on their own level.Thai Basil not only smelled delicious but tasted amazing. The flavours were well balanced and everything was very fresh.I recommend going here when in Kits.

Pineapple fried rice was great, I wish they had a lunch option with shrimp. My friend had Tom Yam and it was great too

The food is consistently amazing and the staff are very kind. The cashew chicken, chicken satay and rice make an excellent meal. Its freshly made to order, but also super quick for take out!

If you're thinking about trying it, go, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've been recommended this place a bunch of times, and finally my friend suggested we go. They got the yellow curry and I the BKK pad thai.. 10/10 for both by casual thai dining standards. The noodles were fresh and the flavour profiles for both dishes were full and complex enough (not a boring pad thai or curry). We'll be back!Review update: I took away a star because the takeout fried rice was so overwhelming. It did not taste authentic, more like the sort of fried-rice you'd get as takeaway from a grocery store. Also, the portion was very small for the price (with the pad-thai too, the portions are smaller when you order takeout compared with what you get when dining in).I'd only recommend going to this restaurant if you're going to dine in, hence the 4 stars. Otherwise, it's overpriced in my opinion.
