JT Total Heating & Sheetmetal Ltd.

Back in Feb of this year I moved into a new home and wanted to get air conditioning as my dogs almost died during the last heat wave. I decided on JT because I really like the man who came out to do the quote. He was super professional and honest. The office staff however was a different story, very abrupt and not personable which I could have lived with if they lived up to their word.I was told 4-6 weeks from the time I signed the contract (march 17). I reached April 26 out to see what was happening and was told due to distribution issues we were in a waiting cycle and that I would keep my spot in line.I reached out a couple more times because I needed to upgrade some electrical and didn't want to be the cause for any delays once the part was in.June 7 the office reached out and said my part still wasn't in but they had another unit available for an additional $3852 on TOP of the $7795 contract price. I asked other than the fact that it's available is there any other reason to agree to that unit?" She said no just that it was available.AND the kicker is she said that I wouldn't get it installed until Aug 29! What happened to my spot in line? I certainly didn't expect them to take no clients until my part came in but I would expect when my part came in to be next in line considering I had booked so far in advance.So not only did I have poor communication from the office

Terrible experience and delayed response. They will sell you a product or brand they know very little about and then refer you to a brochure. They will flat out say “we don’t know anything about this brand” I’m quoting exactly what I’ve been told several times. If you’re not trained to install this particular unit or brand then do not do it.

zero stars.. arranged for Home Depot and their HVAC contractor (JT Total Heating)for a simple furnace replacement. Resulting in months long incompetence, delays, and factual untruths from both. (contract eventually cancelled at their request due to their unable to meet expectations") --Stay away--nuff said"

Could be 0 star if I could. Asked for a quote and had an estimator come by and tell me he would give me a quote and there wouldn’t be any issues with an install. I proceed to schedule the other required quotes and contractors to complete the job to find out a week later that they can’t do the job. Spent a couple of hours waiting for the 5 minute appointment that clearly didn’t even need to happen. Very disappointed with them considering they are the go to installers for Home Depot and thought they would have better customer service.

We had Jt Toal Heating install an on demand gas HW heater a few years ago and were very pleased with their work, so chose them to upgrade our gas furnace and install AC at the same time.This install went as well as the first. All involved, from John, who quoted, Trish, in the office, the installers and the electrician, were easy to deal with and accommodating. We would use them again for any future needs without hesitation !

Val and the team at Total heating exceeded my expectations when our tenants found themselves in a no-heat situation at the start of the heating season. Even though they were very busy Val found time to have a technician come by to diagnosis the problem within 24 hours. The technician identified the problem, retrieved a replacement part and had our tenants back with heat in hours. Exceptional service and would highly recommend them!

One word.Terrible.I've dealt with these people on more than one project over a span of 12 years and they don't improve at all. My first experience was a wood stove, the second an actual fireplace, third was the heat pump. They are flippant and downright rude. If you ask questions, they get even worse. I think it's a husband and wife team effort.I think they signed up as a contractor for Home Depot so if you're looking for quality service, don't go there! Look elsewhere and get better/more timely service. I have heard that home depot have had more than a few complaints about these people.

We booked an assessment for a heat pump through Home Depot. I became concerned when the assessor almost could get up the ladder from our crawl space, he then seemed to not know directions and seemed to get a little lost around our house. I became worried I would have to call someone, I called the office and sent several emails asking for a diagram to submit to our strata but what they send was a hand drawn sketch, in the wrong shape of the house and with the heatpump in a different place than we discussed. I tried emailing over weeks for clarification and couldn't get a reply. I also found out that they weren't registered with Clean BC or Canada Greener Homes programs, like it said on the Home Depot website suggested. About 2 months later I recieved a message back asking for payment to begin the work, and although the quoted price was quite good, I had to go with another company. I really Home that guy is okay...

Unprofessional, unresponsive and, grumpy. Lady who ran the show room was very unwelcoming, and short with me. gave no time when they would show up (blue flame called the day before and gave me a one hour time slot, which they actually showed up for, and also called me 15 minutes prior to showing up). After they finally showed up at 9:15 they moved right to the next job while I was in the shower for 5 minutes, and my wife dropping the kids off at school (which is 2 minutes from our home). Ignored my 3 phone calls back, which were right away after they showed up, then texted me back saying they have moved on to the next job and would push me back til next week. I had already been waiting 4 months, and had to take the day off work and also book my suite unavailable for 2 days so they could do the install. When I told them that the next week did not work, I was told to find someone else and that they were on island time. What a joke of a company. Would never recommend these sour olf folks.

We had our AC unit installed by JT Total heating through Home Depot. The service from the JT Total Heating workmen was on time, professional, tidy, thorough, they took the time to explain our new system.My only issue is with their secretary Val who was to be honest incredibly unpleasant to deal with. I’ve still given 5 stars because the level of professionalism and care given by the installers and the owner.One year later we needed service to make sure everything was working as it should be.We got a service call quickly, one of the same installers came, Shawn, he went above and beyond to show me inside our unit to explain how it all worked, he was really great, I so appreciated the incredible service I received from the team at JT Total Heating. I highly recommend them for competent thorough professionalism with their installs. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and will be happy to continue to support them. Hopeful Val will be retiring or get replaced with someone a little more patient who enjoys providing good customer service because JT Total Heating is a great company if you can get passed the first interaction with Val, everything from service to instal is A1 the best.
