I purchased a pair of sunglasses from another Hakim Optical location years ago. Last summer, I had set them momentarily on the edge of my car trunk, and someone closed it and the plastic part on the arm shredded, so they were not wearable. I took them into this location to see if it was possible to fix them or if I would need to replace them. The customer service clerk was extremely friendly and took my glasses back to check with her co-worker to see if they could be fixed. He had overheard the conversation and was already preparing what was needed to repair them. They were fixed within a few minutes and the clerk also gave me a new glasses case as she could see mine was getting old. My experience here was amazing and I am so happy to have my favourite sunglasses repaired.If you need any repairs done on your glasses, I highly recommend this location! Great people and great service!

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses from them in the middle of August and didn't receive them until October, almost 2 months after ordering them. 3 days after getting the glasses, I noticed the rubber pieces on the arms were peeling off. When i went in to get them repaired/replaced the manager tried blame me by saying i must have used a hair product that reacted badly with my frame (I only use shampoo and conditioner) and tried to replace them with a display frame. After replacing the frame, they said I no longer have a warranty on my glasses which I just got 1 week ago. Don't give these scammers your hard earned money.

Came here to get my glasses repaired. Corban and Mike were super friendly. My glasses were fixed super fast and Mike took the care to ensure the lenses were back in place properly. 100% recommend if you need new glasses or a repair.

The staff at Hakim optical in the Woolwhich location were amazing. They were very kind, assertive, and ready to help. Not only the worker in the front of the store whom was ready to help right away, but the opticians in the back taking care of fixing glasses and doing warranties. They were extremely kind, fast and provided amazing customer service. I will definitely be going back and recommending to all my family and friends. Thank you staff for all your work!

An awesome experience! My first pair of prescription glasses. The staff is tremendous, and a special thank you to Ellie! She walked me through the entire process. From picking the frame to learning the steps to train my eyes for progressive lenses. The price, selection, and guarantee are top of the line! I highly recommend this outlet if you're looking for glasses. And eye exams are available too! Thanks to Dr. Dan Black for taking care of me. Again, thanks so much...and now I can see!!!

First, Hakim needs some written description on their site for their frames. The images are bad. On the site, the frames I wanted looked silver. In person, they are gold. It’s also hard to tell how large they are, as there are no size comparisons.I called around to find the frames. There’s nothing on the site to say what stores have them. The closest place was Guelph. I live in Kitchener.There were three women working. They were all pleasant. The manager wasn’t there; it was two new women and someone from another store who was training them. Everything went well except direct billing. It was one of the reasons I chose Hakim, since a pair of glasses can kill my ability to get groceries that week. After about 20 minutes, the woman from another store said she couldn’t do it. There were questions only the manager of that store could answer, but she went on vacation and hadn’t left them or said it was unavailable.Paid up front, then I asked how long the glasses would be, (my old ones were barely usable, and I’m pretty blind without them,) I was told “a week and a half, at *most* 2 weeks.”I asked if I could have them sent to a different store when they were done (as they have to mail them out to the lab, likely the same lab Kitchener would.) I was told that they could only send them to a second store after they arrived there, and that would take at least two more days, so I said I’d pick them up.Just over 2 weeks later, they called to say there was a lens scratched. They said it would be a “couple more days”. 3 days later, I called to ask. They said not yet. 4 days later, I called again to be told, once again, a couple days. I informed them of my severe headaches, both with wearing my old glasses and with wearing none, and their efforts were limited to telling me the glasses were marked as “done”. 4 days later, I called again, and they said they were marked as “finalized” and might be in that day. 4 more days after that, they finally said they were in. This had now been over two weeks late from their “max” time. They asked when I would like to book an appointment to have them fit, (which I know from experience takes a few minutes,) and said they had openings in 2 days. I basically said “no” and they managed to “fit me in”.I arrived and when she asked me how I was, I was honest and said “pretty terrible”. She asked why, and I explained that I was constantly given misinformation about when they would be ready. She talked about the scratch and that it was ‘“good customer service” to not give them to me and that I was told by her assistants that it would be 3 weeks. I said that was understandable, however, I was told a “couple more days” when they were sent back, and every time I called after that, which was frustrating, for over 2 weeks. On top of that, I told her directly that I was never told that it would be 3 weeks, and in fact that it would be no more than 2. She just repeated herself, as if she’d not heard a word I said, that it was good customer service to not give them to me with a scratch (she pointed out her “good customer service” about 5 times) and that I was told 3 weeks. She never apologized nor took accountability for a single thing and came off as very condescending and lacking empathy.This was the manager, the same person who left without giving the needed info, or informing her staff that direct billing would be down, or training them properly on how long glasses take to come in, apparently. I also usually had to call to ask after these “couple days” were passed rather than being updated. Of course I received no compensation for any of these issues. (My insurance didn't cover it even close to fully, and I purchased the cheapest lenses.)So maybe if you’re set on a Hakim, avoid Guelph entirely, but it’s been a long time since I purchased my previous glasses, so I would suggest, if possible, avoiding them altogether. They need to work on their “customer service” that this manager seems to think she has copious amounts of.
