The May 28 front page of your newspaper read “Who made Houdini vanish” and I haven’t been this disgusted and horrified by a lack of compassion and sensibility in journalism in quite some time. Dimarjio Jenkins was a 21-year-old young man with dreams and hopes and people who cared for him. What you probably believed to be tongue in cheek was just a complete disregard for the loss of life of this young man and perpetuates the belief that the loss of black lives is unimportant, comical even. I am disappointed, I am enraged, but I am not surprised. Do better.
