Me and my elderly muslim grandma, came in to buy a hamster. We asked the worker Katie where the hamsters are, she started yelling at us for no apparent reason and we stayed respectful and calm the whole time. She said she felt threatened by us and we were not allowed to look at the hamsters since they can’t sell it to “bad house holds” she kicked us out and threatened to call the police just because we were Muslim. I don’t recommend going there and I had a very bad experience with this worker.

called to book a grooming appointment - they were booking a few weeks ahead. We booked our appointment and our dog has very fast growing hair so we were a little concerned but it was the earliest we could find in the area. They called two days before and cancelled our appointment because THEY double booked the time and now don’t have any available appointments for 3 more weeks. We are so incredibly disappointed and frustrated as we waited weeks before being cancelled on. This was our first impression with this location as we typically go to the one near costco and they are amazing but they had a long wait so we wanted to try the barrhaven location. Would not recommend and will not be booking or shopping at this location again.

Good selection of pet stuff. For a while they were short on the specific type of dog food we bought, so we had to change to a different brand. They have a good selection. The groomers there (esp. Briana) are great. Dog training services have been good, too. Items for sale can be a bit pricey compared to other retailers.

it was a terrible experience. I came to this store from Gatineau. At first I turned to them by phone for advice. I was looking for a guinea pig skinny and all the goods for its maintenance except for the cage. the manager of the store Katrin (if I'm not mistaken, her name) began to find fault with me. require proof of the presence of a cage and proper conditions for keeping the animal. everything would be fine if it weren't so rude. I didn’t have a photo of the cage, and only on this basis she refused to sell the animal to me. Left the store in complete disappointment and with a child in tears

The staff are really friendly and very knowledgeable. Prices are great (even with inflation) and they always seem to have enough stock, if not they are getting it in shortly. BEST PART EVER....the adoptions have started again in coordination with the Ottawa Humane Society.

Shout out to Shannon (sherpa;)) a customer rep who went above and beyond to help me and my visually impaired friend and her guide dog. We needed a bunch of different things, and Shannon was so patient and helpful and made the whole experience simply delightful. - Kerry, Claudia and Irwin!

Great. Staff very friendly, and helpful from food to kitty litter, to kitty toys. My little darling loves the dental mice. She crunches it and tosses it. Put the harness on her minus the leash, and she sulked in her bed.

Decent food and toy selection. Pretty good groomers though they can get busy and you definitely need to make appointments to be efficient. All and all a solid PetSmart location.

The last review about I came in with my grandma is NOT TRUE.. I was in the store at the time shopping when these teenagers came in they were very rude with the staff and there was NO GRANDMA with them! only 7 teenagers.. they are just lying to get attention!

After the way i was treated for knocking when I showed up for an early morning appointment I would never recommend anyone I know to go to this PetSmart in Barrhaven. Their grooming employees need to take a class in how to talk to people and not to yell. When you don't tell customers about your morning procedure and there is no sign outside the door and the store is dark and the doorbell is broken, well the next thing you do is to knock. I was treated like I had committed a crime and my dog has been banned from going there for future grooming. To be honest, now that I have seen how they treat customers I don't want them touching my dog.
