It's a great place, I used too shop there when I lived in the area but now just stop for gas. What I didn't like was you have too pay to fill up your tires with air.

Wish I could rate the diner and store separately...Diner is FIVE stars for great service, selection of food and reasonable prices.The store might as well be a 0Never have beer in stock as well as you would think there was an apocalypse in the midst because the isles of snacks and chocolate bars are near empty.You would think with a central location for commuters and locals it would be stocked full of selection ....sadly that’s not true.

Fuel is a bit more expensive than at the some of the fuel stations in Courtenay or Black Creek. The food is GREAT and very reasonably priced. Here you can also mail your letters etc, and pick up some convenience items along with some beer and wine if you're so inclined. Great little store to have next door.

The girl who drives the white car that works there is a total b!tch.No other way to put it! Given her many chances to communicate without power tripping...personally, I have bought way too much overpriced food there the past 5 years, BUT but won't ever spend a dime again due to her. I hope the new owner reads this and sees that one of his customers will no longer be spending $100 a week there. That's $400 a month that has been taken out of your pocket due to an unruly, strange employee.She bullies long time customers in front of other customers. The vibe is rough when she is working.This is Merville, everyone is super helpful and nice here, don't bring your rude Nanaimo customer service vibe up island!Used to be a better place before she arrived in the valley. Worst customer service!The guys are all nice though...

Ok so I moved out of merville 10 years ago, and recently began commuting for work to merville/black creek and started stopping by here again. I must say, like 100x better than it was 10 years ago. They actually have gas, liquor and convenience store items! The prices are better than most places in town and the employees are stellar! Definitely one of my go-to places now for gas and more!

Under new ownership and totally revitalized. New gas pumps, liquor license, post office, homemade snacks and full shelves makes for all the basics. Staff super friendly and helpful. Expecting the diner to reopen soon. So good to have this location a viable option again!

As a warning, this store frequently closes early or in the middle of the day without warning. Do not rely on their posted times. On one occasion, the 'open' sign was on and the door was unlocked and I was still informed that they were closed"."
