I rarely write reviews, but I will never stay at this hotel again. My husband and I stayed there for two nights and chose this particular hotel because of the location and how great it looked online. I called the hotel to book and asked about secure parking and was told that it is available on site. I specifically told the guest service member that I required parking and was told not to worry. We arrived around 8:30 at night and the guest service member said that parking was full and she said that we could just park anywhere outside. We tried to find parking outside as she had suggested and there were no parking spots available within a reasonable distance of the hotel. When I returned to the front desk I told her that I was returning the keys because we couldn't find parking and it was unacceptable when you specifically inform the hotel at booking that you need parking that there isn't parking available. Because she could tell that I was angry, she informed the manager, who came out and said that she could magically find us a spot if we drove back to the parking garage and waited for someone who was leaving in 5 mins. The young man who drove out of the parking garage clearly looked like a hotel staff member and not a guest - I'm assuming that he had been instructed to move to make room in the parking garage for the upset hotel guest. I understand that the hotel has only 14 parking stalls but at no time during our stay did I see the parking garage full. TWICE when I went to our vehicle when it was parked I saw a hotel staff member go to her vehicle which was parked there. Clearly, this hotel manager is fine with LYING to guests about the availability of parking up to the point where a guest pushes back and insists on parking in the hotel or finding other accommodations. Why isn't there a contingency plan for when they actually have a full parking garage and a guest needs to park? Our room was very standard, the breakfast was pathetic (other reviews point this out so I wasn't expecting much), there was no microwave in the room, there wasn't a mini fridge (even though there was a clear spot for it with a plug in), and there wasn't even an ice machine that guests can use (you have to ask hotel staff to bring you some ice from the kitchen). I'm fine with paying the inflated price only because of the location but this hotel should NOT be claiming to be a luxury hotel for so many reasons. We didn't eat at the restaurant so I cannot comment on that. Note: the Room Operations Manager did contact me to apologize after I had given an unfavorable review. He said that we would be given free upgrades" should we decide to stay with them again. We've been lied to once

Had a very brief stay here but the whole atmosphere was wonderful. The room we stayed in was on the corner which concerned me because of the potential for street lights to light up your room, but it wasn't a problem at all!The shower head was at least 8 feet which was the highlight for me!!The continental breakfast was wonderful with a great amount of nutritious variety.5/5

We haven't been back to Calgary in 10 years and thought we wanted to revisit the hotel after our previous stay for our wedding night. The room and bathroom were nice looking... but the mattress had to big grooves in them, so far from comfortable. One of the few things we fondly remembered was the breakfast... this morning, it was very disappointing. After paying $288/night, I would have expected a lot more than some pieces of bread, a granola, a couple yogurts and some protein breakfast bars". Sad that this stay has soured (our wedding night) hotel. Not worth the money. If you are going to pay that

We had a great 19th Anniversary staying at this little gem of a hotel. It was quiet and very relaxing. The room was very modern, private, and comfortable. The staff were extremely polite, kind, and helpful.Overall very enjoyable stay and a fun neighborhood with all the amenities you could need with in walking distance.Great little hidden gem restaurants in the hotel, around the corner, and just down the street.Little disappointed in the unusable fireplace and the mess under the bed. The fireplace wasn't really needed just would have added to our romantic stay.We didn't notice the popcorn, dirty socks, and dust bunnies until we thought we had misplaced something in the room. Reported it to the front desk later that day at our scheduled check out time. I am sure it got cleaned shortly after as the staff was very apologetic and seemed genuinely concerned.Oh one other strange thing is there was no fitted sheet on the bed? Just a flat sheet and mattress protector under the comforter. Just found it unusual!

It is truly a chic, sophisticated boutique hotel. Simple elegance. Our room had a large bathtub and plenty of soap, shampoo, lotions, and towels. The best feature is the comfort bed. The pillows were perfect! Our room had a fireplace, which gave it a romantic vibe.

I stayed at Hotel Arts Kensington for a couple of nights. I arrived during a rainy day with a rental car. The hotel had an underground parking garage entrance located on an eastbound westbound unnamed alley located between Memorial Dr and Kensington Rd on 10 A St NW. There is an intercom to the left to request the access. There were a dozen or so parking spots available for self parking, and there were a few empty spots available to park. The check in was quite expeditious after I parked as the front desk already had my keys ready. I found the physical metal keys quite charming.Once inside, I found a king sized bed in the middle of the room. To the immediate left of the entrance was a bathroom with a deep soaker tub. To the immediate right was a closet with a large umbrella available for guest use. As it was raining everyday I stayed here, I was thankful for the umbrella. I also found that the hotel had extra umbrellas by the front desk. The hotel offered a complimentary breakfast which was simple that was composed of freshly baked bread to yogurt to ham and cheese. There were few pastries available as well. As for drinks, there were orange, apple, and grape fruit juices in addition to a pot of coffee. As the hotel was walking distance from Kensington Road and nearby trails, I rarely had to drive out during my stay, but when I did, I was thankful for the inclusive self parking garage.I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and I would stay here again.

Lovely hotel, all the staff are extremely friendly. The restaurant manager ( wish I could remember her name) went above and beyond to take care of us for my partners 40th birthday. The rooms were very clean, it was quite so easy to get some sleep. Also a GREAT location. So close to many local shops and restaurants and about a 15/20 min walk to the Jubilee.I highly recommend Arts hotel. 5*

too expensive for an average hotel room. thought it might be because we would get a good breakfast but it was just cereal and toast. didn’t know where to park other then the public parking across the street but had to pay extra for that.

Stayed here 4 nights July 17-21. First of all I would like to thank the staff (front desk personnel, servers in lobby lounge, cleaners) for being so accommodating, welcoming and kind. Check in was a breeze. Was able to accommodate early check in. Also we decided to stay 4 nights instead of the original 2 and Sarah made it work. Marine (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was also very attentive to our needs. The room was very comfortable and clean. My husband had hip surgery and the staff made sure we were very comfortable. Had snacks in the lobby bar with Marie as our server. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the Oxbow restaurant.Location is perfect. Lots of shops and restaurants at your beck and call. Next time we are in Calgary I will be sure to book in here. Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality.

I would like to cancel my trip because of the fires in Canada 3 weeks before coming, it was not possible for the hotel, who charges me 100% of the price, even if i dont come ! This is clearly abusive conditions in this context. So i will keep the reservation, but very unhappy and will never recommand or go back again is this place. Give me back half of the price would be an acceptable deal in my mind.
