A wonderful daycare centre!! My daughter is in JK now and still talks about the staff and her friends there. We also did the summer camp which was a great precursor for JK. Highly recommend for those in the area looking for a place that is close to home.

St Joachims school prides itself as a loving environment for children. However that is not the case. Contrary to the catholic teachings St Jochims is a school where it is frown upon to show any emotion or affection. It is against the rules for children to hug or hold hands. They have eliminated the jungle gym at the school and from my observations show little comfort to children who are having a hard time adjusting to school (ie. crying at drop off). The teachers and principal are hard working individuals who try and do their best for students including those who are having difficulties in class but are hindered by an over abundance of unnecessary rules that strips children of being children and large class sizes. Staff are overwhelmed especially in the younger grade settings. I feel the issue is with the district itself and not the staff at the school who are exceptional. The inability to have school be an extension of home with similar attitudes, structures and expectations causes a great disconnect for the kids and leaves many feeling alone. Very little emotional connection between students and their peers or teachers.
