this office is a joke...on ALL of us... This capitol city is the biggest joke, they say it holds the legislative branch...more jokes on us....this province is a joke.... the entire country is a joke...a maple syrup republic...a brown stain... I call it Canuckistan...

If I could leave zero stars and still comment, I would too.As almost all of the other reviews say “DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME” . Their extremely poor rating says something, the fact they don’t care says more. Untouchable they are. Evidently……. otherwise they’d be required to improve . After 3 years, 3 separate investigations, all the way up to executive director of intake and investigations, I can assure you they are BAIS from beginning to end. In my lengthy in-depth experience being treated with respect and listened to impartially by our ombudsperson will be as successful as trying to nail jello to the wall. Their website looks so promising, I know. They are not who they claim to be.A 10 million dollars waste of taxpayers money….. annually.Shame on you Jay Chalke. Shame on you for not being curious. Why are most people so dissatisfied with the institution you head? Much easier just to make excuses, right ? You’re on a pedestal….. the highest moral judge with no requirements holding you accountable. Lucky you.Fellow dissatisfied complainants, contact your MLA. Let them know loud and clear what a sham/ disgrace / waste of taxpayer money this office is.

Explained to these people that mr. Horgan, or Mr Fleming, nor Mr Ralston would not respond to persistent , straight forward questions to their respective offices regarding very serious issues that these ministers and premier refuse to answer to theB C taxpayers and are ACCOUNTABLE to do so!ombudspeoples response : We cant tell them to answer you.Are you kidding me? If nothing else the ombudspeople had plenty of information in my email to them. It was very detailed and should have raised serious questions to any normal person, instead I get the above response. It's pathetic.There is a very strong and unified group that is not going to stop until these answers are given by these people that are accountable. Ombudspeople are accountable too, and when all this apparent corruption comes to the Canadian public, the investigations and inquiries happen, I will assure everyone that within that process, I will be taking my response from them and bring it forth for them to explain.The biggest breach of trust that will go down in Canadian history soon to become public and this office will watch out the window, as this happens fully aware of details they could have and should have been investigated BY THEM. It would very much appear that they want nothing to do with government issues no matter the seriousness. What are they here for if thats the case.Ombudspeople ! Who is Mr. John Pecman and in what capacity did he serve ? What mergers over his course of time did he allow and who was involved? Who did he work for after his service ? Who is Mr Boswell, and who appointed him ?This is on public record ombudspeople. I'm calling you out" as they say.For example - asking Mr Ralston who Petrowest is

Ombudspersons are apologists for government misconduct who pretend to be unbiased investigators. They will perform excruciating mental gymnastics in defending government employees charged with wrongdoing.As others have mentioned: this branch is a waste of time and taxpayers' money.

This office is the only effective office that is respected by BC Housing. They keep you updated and follow up on all complaints as long as they are sensible complaints and complaints they handle because this respected office doesn't handle all of them. I had excellent results when I wrote them about an issue I had years ago. No one else could move mountains like this office did for me and I can't appreciate them more for it.

What a joke. Took almost a year to investigate and ultimately sided with the government organization. Just a farce. Not sure why our tax payor dollars are being put towards this service. Would not recommend.

This office a complete disgrace. I had a complaint from ICBC they couldn’t do anything about it . They never put an effort to open an investigation and went with ICBC. So this office have zero influence or credibility. Abolish this office and avoid paying high salaries from taxpayers money.

Someone described this Office well. It's a Rich Man's Office to give the Perception of helping the victims. It's a FARCE ! A JOKE !And we Paying for it. Brilliant !! Ruuun. Don't waste your time. It's Valuable.

So I haven't been getting my mail since October. It's now April. In December I got a couple items, some for neighbours. After 6 tickets got thrown away through Canada Post I contacted the Ombudsmen. They spent months just to tell me in March that they spoke with the employee and they are going to pay more attention when delivering mail. I am still not getting my mail. Absolutely useless.
