Large boat launch with large parking space.

Paid parking. Can paddle to Black's lock #13. Watched some of the Rideau club race team event. Washrooms avail at Mooneys bay & Lock station.

Went to launch our boat on the weekend and payed the launch fee. The ramp is well located however be very aware that only 1 side of the dock is usable at the moment and only when the Pirate ship is out on a tour during daytime hours. The other side is also taken by one of their boats so there is a minimal amount of space at the dock. Also upon our return we had to get creative on our docking as their was virtually no room to tie up temporarily and go get the trailer. Naive people also parked right in front of the ramp which made maneuvering very difficult to get to the ramp. This ramp needs to be redone and notices put up starting that people cannot block the boat ramp. Also be very careful at the dock as their is a large cement block on the right side of the dock and a heavier boat will hit it. Inspect the area before launching and be skilled if you have a 19+ foot boat at this launch.

This is a great boat launch. An excellent starting point for a trip down the Rideau River and its lock system. Parking is pay and display, $1 per hour just to park or $9.80 to launch your boat and park your truck and trailer for the day. The ramp itself is great, steep enough for boats of all sizes.
