Lancaster Inn

I stayed in the queen suite room upstairs with my father recently. We were hoping to stay closer to Elliston, but we were late to book, and this was one of the few options left. This was the most expensive accommodations during our 2-week trip to Newfoundland by far, and yet I didn't feel like it was a 4-star accommodation. I think that it was probably a 4-star property years ago, but it could use some TLC to update and fix things within the property.On the plus side, the room was very spacious, quiet, and the ladies running the front desk and making breakfast were very nice and were quick to respond to any questions even when they weren't on site (via text). The room has a jacuzzi right in the bedroom, which we didn't use at all, but maybe a honeymooning couple might use.In terms of things that need addressing:1) The internet is very slow even during odd hours. I only got at most 1 Mbps download speed, which wasn't even fast enough to load certain websites. I know that other properties in the province were able to get 50-100 Mbps download, so I think that the owner just needs to adjust their plan with Bell.2) Some of the amenities are a bit dated and could use some TLC. As an example, the shower in our room looked very fancy with lots of jets and different buttons, but only the main shower head worked, and it even leaked a bit. A new shower head and tub would go a long way to making the place much nicer.3) We did see some insects in our bathroom, especially at night, although we weren't sure how they were getting inside.Overall, the staff here are great, but the building and internet service could use some updates.

Beautiful B&B with very modern and well appointed rooms. Delicious full breakfast of bacon and eggs as well as fruit and cereal. Excellent coffee and a delightful hostess - Daphne...

We couldn't be happier with the accommodations and service. Debbie was awesome and went out of her way to make us comfortable.We would definitely highly recommend the property.

Lovely place to stay! the manager was very nice, made us a great breakfast, nice to chat with. We went off season so not a lot of places to eat, but we really enjoyed our room and the hospitality. Really well looked after.

Large clean rooms, and breakfast is made for you in the morning. Close to restaurants.

Beautiful furnishings, Debbie is a great cook & considers if you have allergies. It near the boat tours & restaurants.

We spent two weeks in Newfoundland recently and this was the nicest place we stayed in. After six days cramped up in a St John's hotel it was nice to come to a place with spacious, well-decorated rooms with all the trimmings. And the breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended.
