West Village Suites

My daughter has lived at WVS for 2 years and it’s really been a great place for her. It’s close to school, it’s clean and safe, and the building management is very responsive to any concerns. In the past 2 years many updates have been done and I would highly recommend WVS to any student looking for great value in a nice apartment.

A really good spot to consider when looking for student residence. My friend lives here and the staff are very friendly and helpful when needed. It’s nice to be able to access and rent out equipment for pool, and to have access to a limited gym on-site. The gym however is a little outdated, limited, and in need of some upgrading, but it’s still possible to get a good workout in. The underground parking is also a great plus if you can acquire a spot, especially in the winter. The apartments themselves have a good size per tenant ratio and good maintenance staff that can help if things go haywire. Overall, would definitely recommend checking this residence out if looking for student housing.

Overall, pretty good value place to live if you can afford to. The rooms are nice, management is great especially Paige she always goes above and beyond. My only complaint would be that the HVAC system doesn't always work well. I totally recommend it though

This is a good place to look into if you are a McMaster or Mohawk student. What initially caught my eye was the security features that many student houses don’t have in the area and the amenities included like the gym, laundry and package room. Price is a bit on the higher end, but utilities and wifi are included, and truly you get what you pay for especially in this area. I have lived here for the past two years and have little to no problems with my unit, and even when things arose the staff have been friendly, efficient and easy to reach. The maintenance team is quick to make an appointment to repair any issues, and many suite and building upgrades take place during the year which continues to make it improved.

This place is truly terrible with disrespectful owners and managers. During the time when I had sublet my place, the management unjustly evicted my sublet and made me pay thousands of dollars for the damages that were caused by the other tenants, even though my sublet had no involvement in the damages done to the property and the managers were made aware of that. Further, they proceeded to enter the unit and throw away my personal belongings before my predetermined move-out date and when I confronted them, they merely offered me a gift card in return without showing any sign of remorse. And now when I decide to move back into the building by doing a lease-take-over, they refused my application and the manager’s explanation for the rejection was simply that “the owners were not interested in having me as a tenant”. I don't really know how all of this is fair and more importantly legal. This place and its management should be thoroughly investigated by the Ontario ethics board.

The staff are super friendly and helpful! They put on great events like movie nights and have food down in the lobby. The building is super safe. Great location, right by Fortinos and you can bring shopping carts back to the building. Overall, really great place to live.

Overall nice place to live. Close to campus and grocery stores. Rooms are spacious and staff are helpful.

I didn't get a first year residence experience due to covid so this place has been amazing! It fosters a really great community and they do activities and events for the residents all the time! Management and the front desk team are very sweet and responsive - they genuinely care to help you solve your problems when you come to them with them!If you are looking for a place to live while going to school this is the place to be - its less than a 15 minute walk to campus, it has a lot of food spots and grocery stores close by, and the building has great security and spacious rooms!
