The chicken Chow Mein is an absolute disgrace. Just a hard block of uncooked noodles. Which is a shame. Everything else is awesome. But that Chow Mein dish is really disappointing

Like others, I wanted to calm down over night after ordering. I really was not happy with the quality of the food we ordered. The kids did not eat any of the mixed veg, chicken or beef and broc. We will not be ordering again.

I wanted to give myself a chance to calm down and think overnight before I write such a negative review. I work in the restaurant industry and I know that really negative reviews can actually really impact an establishment. I hate writing poor reviews, but I really feel this one is warranted. There is no email listed on the website that I can see, so I hope the owners and management see the reviews and try to rectify the issues.I had several recommendations to try Toi Shan, despite the higher price. My mom lives out of town and barely gets Chinese food, and we were craving some delicious almond chicken soo gai, beef and vegetables, and chicken chop suey. We also ordered egg rolls and were gifted two spring rolls for ordering over $40. Our total came to $64 and change, with free delivery. SWEET! I tipped the driver , and was so stoked to try what was supposed to be the BEST around. It had better be for $73!!!!To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Almost nothing was really edible. The free spring rolls were apparently decent, my daughter would only eat them and I never got a chance to try. Here's a rundown:Almond Chicken($16.95)- Way too dark, looked like either super old oil was used, or GROSSLY overcooked. The chicken inside was soooo dry and overcooked. We are talking almost chicken jerky here. I pulled some chicken out and ate that because we were all starving, but I would have sent it back in a restaurant, just like everything else we ordered. NOT GOOD!Beef and mixed Veg($15.50 )- RUBBERY, and slimy, greasy beef, greasy vegetables, in a POOL of water and grease. I picked a few vegetables out and ate them, but I had to literally spit the beef out. No flavour at all. Some vegetables were almost raw, some were ok. But still oily and no taste apart from that. YUCK!Chicken chop suey($15.50)- Same thing as the beef- rubbery, slimy, oily, and in a pool of liquid with next to no seasoning. Chicken was completely inedible. The description on the menu also describes Egg foo yung".........GROSS!Egg rolls ($5.75 for 2) -Really dark

This is a reliable Chinese food restaurant that serves a good assortment of good quality menu items in its lunch buffet. Fridays see squid in the offerings. Service is always attentive and very good. I have not been to this establishment in the evening. I have been a return customer for a couple of years now.

My family and I went here for some good Chinese food and our expectations were definitely met!We got the minced chicken corn soup,Crispy spring rolls(we asked if they could make vegetarian and they did!),Beef chowmein( it also wasn’t on the menu and we had to ask and they made it for us),The chicken corn soup was very good and there were a bunch of yummy parts to it the medium was more than enough for three people (if you are planning to have only one bowl) overall very good recommend getting!Crispy spring rolls again we asked for the vegetarian option and they made it for us. Very flexible. Me personally I didn’t really like them but my friend said that he really liked them so I’m not sure if I should recommend but I like how they were accommodating with our wants!Beef chowmein they also were very accommodating with our wants for beef instead of chicken and it was very good the noodles were nice and crispy and slowly got less and less which I like, the beef was juicy and nice, and the vegetables were cooked well and very good!The service was also very good and they were nice, kind and refilled our waters lots of times!Overall so good and I definitely recommend going to Toi Shan!

Food is quiet okay, no much variety though. The price was so unclear, they have a price via their online website, and a different one outside of their shop, then when it’s time to pay, it way higher again. Felt tricked. The food is not worth the money.

Tonight’s order was undercooked, the dough on the chicken was mushy on the inside, the spring rolls were so greasy that the oil was running down my arm. I always call and compliment them on their amazing food, but when my husband brought back our order for a refund, the owner said his wife said I call and complain all the time.(Not true whatsoever). Then he brought out the chef who made more excuses. As I said previously, I always call and compliment them. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! After today’s service (we are long time customers) I am very disappointed and sad to say they have lost three very good customers.

If I could rate this place as a minus I would. It was the grossest food I have ever had. Absolutely no taste. Anything deep fried tasted like it had been cooked at least 4 times, you couldn't even eat the batter it was so over done. It was a total waste of money, I had o throw it in the garbage. There were three of us, and not one of us liked it even a little bit. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and definitely will NEVER order from this place again. Also we had it delivered and it took forever. You might as well just throw your money in the garbage.

Toi Shan Restaurant
This is a great Chinese food restaurant it's been here a long time and the food quality is always very good. At lunch they have a buffet although not huge always top quality and on Fridays they also have squid. I highly recommend the lunch buffet, eating in for dinner or ordering for take out. It's all very good.
